Just create a local game and try things out to your heart's content.

Try to stick to the rookie servers at first. Also ask a leaguer to go in with you in a closed server and show you the ropes. With the extra game modes it can be bewildering. Also remember you can respawn at any of your teams bases. A lot of people forget that.

alright, now that I've had a couple more hours with it, I've changed my tune. The last couple of games I played were a blast. They were both on I think it's called island hopper, where there are two islands with two bridges between the two. I actually got some practice in with the warhawk and after getting the hang of it, the dogfighting was a blast. I absolutely LOATHED the twin missile turrets on the ground. I was doing pretty good in dog fights but those things would pick me off nearly every time. I need to get faster releasing the chaff or whatever that is that gets missiles off of you.

The second game I captured a spawn point next to one of the missile turrets and used that for almost the whole game. Which did two things (1) allowed me to get 24 kills (3 of which were in a jeep that I pulled off a brilliant and lucky shot of a jeep full of guys crossing the bridge). I learned to use the map effectively too, since I would just sit in the turret with the big map pulled up and watch for warhawks. and (2) it also taught me how the warhawks can not get destroyed by them. Such as go around the turrets, know where they are and stay away. Or fly in low in the river then pop up and missile me to hell. Either way it was fun.

I changed my mind about the game and I'm thoroughly enjoying it now and I can't wait for the league game tomorrow. I'm sure I will get my ass handed to me, but all the better.

Hey, I'm glad you like it. Another way to get missiles off you is to tap R2 twice and hold it (boost) and go crazy with the joysticks. You'll see the red dots disappear shortly (if you're lucky). It can take some practice to get the hang of it, but once you do, you'll almost never have to use chaff. Even for the missile turrets.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

warhawk is a fun game but can be challenging especially when trying to fly. just got to stick with it as it gets easier with practice.

It's a fun game.... the only problem is that the majority of people that still plays Warhawk on a regular basis are so damn good that people like me get owned.. alot. Regardless, when the game just came out and i started to get the hang of flying via sixaxis, it was fresh and winning dogfights never felt so rewarding.

lol,

learn to play before claiming it is not fun

ur title is so misleading ...

Time to Work !

Vagabond - just two words - keep running. I've lasted a while just running from folks and firing occasionally. I too have the full enchilada. I will create a server and play solo then join an active server.
