They were both on I think it's called island hopper, where there are two islands with two bridges between the two. I actually got some practice in with the warhawk and after getting the hang of it, the dogfighting was a blast. I absolutely LOATHED the twin missile turrets on the ground. I was doing pretty good in dog fights but those things would pick me off nearly every time. I need to get faster releasing the chaff or whatever that is that gets missiles off of you. The second game I captured a spawn point next to one of the missile turrets and used that for almost the whole game. Which did two things (1) allowed me to get 24 kills (3 of which were in a jeep that I pulled off a brilliant and lucky shot of a jeep full of guys crossing the bridge). I learned to use the map effectively too, since I would just sit in the turret with the big map pulled up and watch for warhawks. and (2) it also taught me how the warhawks can not get destroyed by them. Such as go around the turrets, know where they are and stay away. Or fly in low in the river then pop up and missile me to hell. Either way it was fun. I changed my mind about the game and I'm thoroughly enjoying it now and I can't wait for the league game tomorrow. I'm sure I will get my ass handed to me, but all the better. |
Hey, I'm glad you like it. Another way to get missiles off you is to tap R2 twice and hold it (boost) and go crazy with the joysticks. You'll see the red dots disappear shortly (if you're lucky). It can take some practice to get the hang of it, but once you do, you'll almost never have to use chaff. Even for the missile turrets.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
