no one was more excited than me about the microsoft E3 announcement of FF13 on 360, cuz at the time my 360 was functional , but weeks later (as i mentioned many times b4 in different threads) i purchased a ps3 cuz my 360 crashed , (i plan on getting the 1.99 arcade next month )but not a week after the announcement did i realize that vs 13 was a ps3 exclusive !! so i know i was gonna hafe to purchase a ps3 inevitablely anyway .

my point is , will xbox 360 owners who purchase ff 13 , eventualy buy a ps3 to get the other 1/3 of the series after exp/ing the game and feel the need to play the game in a different perspective which is final fantasy vs 13 !?! and perhaps complete it by getting a psp for agito??

sony might have the upper hand and not even realize it !!! or maybe it was square enix plan from the start!!??

They will get the sales that they expected from the 360. Alot more people purchased FFX than X2. Remember that. Side stories are overrated. Even though i'm buying both on PS3, the 360 installed base will provide at least 2 m more for the FF franchise. FFXIII versus will be more tuned for the Kingdom Hearts fanboys and the Dirge Cerberus fans. By the way...Dirge Cerberus sucked, so melding the two will be pretty tricky. No gameplay has been shown of Versus as of yet I believe as well.

Can't wait until ALL the FFxiii are released... then we won't have these same threads every week... well at least until SE announces FFxiv... xD

OT: No... nobody buys a console just for one game.. the Xbox360 gamers who wants to play FFvsxiii after FFxiii.. will be like: "Oh.. it's not for the XBOX360??? well then get me Halo 4 please... they are just games... people can live without certain games...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

i love it when people dream alot :)

I think if they just developed the game for PS3 they would have captured the PS3's strenghs, now they have to consider the 360 which could hold the game back because of things like disk size and system specs just like if it would have been exclusive to the 360 they would have developed specifically for the 360 and captured its strenghs

@Obliterator

Do you have proof/specs/whatever or did you just make that up? I'm sure it's the latter. No PS3 or 360 game have challenged the opposite system's capabilities so don't try to spin it like that.

Your just trolling now...If you think the 360 has more capabilites then the ps3...No comment.

Considering that none of the 3 XIII games are connected, I don't see it backfiring. If the stories are properly connected, then maybe, but they aren't, so it shouldn't.

I'm sure not everyone went out and bought a GBA when Kingdom hearts: Chain of Memories was announced and that was a game that connected the story of 2 games on a different platform.

Also, I'm almost certain that not everyone bought a DS for FFXII: revenant wings. I'm not buying a PSP for crisis core and Chains of Olympus. So I doubt this'll screw MS over. FFXIII was worth the price they paid (assuming they did) for the fact that it's one less exclusive on the PS3 and one more JRPG for the Best JRPG flagship console on the market right now (I say flagship because.. well.. the PS2).

Obliterator: I don't think Soriku was trolling, I mean he's a Nintendo fanboy for god's sake. He has a point though, for all the smoke that sony was spouting about the clear superiority of the PS3, it hasn't produced much to show for it. Yes MGS4 looks awesome, butttt since HD gaming has gotten so darn close to realism(except character models) it is not a big enough difference to say the PS3 is CLEARLY superior. Problem with the PS3 is that for every two or so component that are powerful, there's another one that bottle necks it in real world use.

The game is already finished on the PC...you expecting it be molded off the PS3 alone is a joke. The PS3 version is coming next and then the 360 version. The thing about the 360 is that it has a great installed base and it doesn't take twice the work like it does on the PS3 to make a game with great graphics. This means they spend less money on the PS3 version have will most likely have similar results to the PS3 version. The PS3 budget will tear a hole in ones pocket, when they know they wont get back from the installed base of Sony alone.

This game is much more than a spinoff... hope it stays PS3-exclusive.

I subscribe to the theory that, as a gamer, we should hope that all great games go multiplat, because the more people who play them, the better.

screw more people playing them, I just want the best game possible. I dont want to be cheated by yet another game going multi. Games that are exclusive have the ability to use a system's FULL specs. That goes for BOTH systems.

DEATH TO MULTIPLATFORM!!!!

Listen to you Sony fanboys. You are all a bunch of hypocrites. Last gen you say that graphics dont matter on PS2 games as long as the graphics are acceptable and the gameplay is what stands out. Now look at you fools. Your arguments are laughable. Nintendo fanboys deserve their laugh at Sony and I laugh with them. I really cannot understand why you waste your time on stupid console superiority. I already know that the PS3 is more powerful. The Xbox was more powerful last gen and I loved the PS2. The reasons I like the 360 this gen is for the exact same reasons I liked the PS2. However the 360 and PS3 have strengths together that I find rather than overlooking the PS3 for a Wii. :)

How can a game thats part of one of the highest profile series in gaming history being released on the 360 backfire? How can this be anything but a blow to sony and a huge gain for SE?
