Considering that none of the 3 XIII games are connected, I don't see it backfiring. If the stories are properly connected, then maybe, but they aren't, so it shouldn't.

I'm sure not everyone went out and bought a GBA when Kingdom hearts: Chain of Memories was announced and that was a game that connected the story of 2 games on a different platform.

Also, I'm almost certain that not everyone bought a DS for FFXII: revenant wings. I'm not buying a PSP for crisis core and Chains of Olympus. So I doubt this'll screw MS over. FFXIII was worth the price they paid (assuming they did) for the fact that it's one less exclusive on the PS3 and one more JRPG for the Best JRPG flagship console on the market right now (I say flagship because.. well.. the PS2).

Obliterator: I don't think Soriku was trolling, I mean he's a Nintendo fanboy for god's sake. He has a point though, for all the smoke that sony was spouting about the clear superiority of the PS3, it hasn't produced much to show for it. Yes MGS4 looks awesome, butttt since HD gaming has gotten so darn close to realism(except character models) it is not a big enough difference to say the PS3 is CLEARLY superior. Problem with the PS3 is that for every two or so component that are powerful, there's another one that bottle necks it in real world use.
