I think they would already have announced Versus for X360 if they really wanted to. At this point I think it's going to stay exclusive to the PS3 unless it doesn't sell well, and even then it will be at least timed exclusive.

I rather think it means that it's finalized as coming to one platform only. Gears of War 2, for instance, is an Xbox 360 exclusive. But I fully expect that like Gears, it'll go to PC in about a year's time. At which point it will no longer be a 360 exclusive.

So, for a time, FFXIII was coming only to the PS3. Even if Square is talking with Microsoft about a 360 version, they can't very well announce something that might not come to fruition. I would agree that they were lying if they had been expressly saying all along it would never come to the Xbox 360; otherwise, it's just a change of plans due to sluggish PS3 sales.

I agree that diehad jrpg fans will have to purchase a ps3 for White Knight Chronicles and Final Fantasy versus XIII (If they remain exclusive)....but I also believe that diehard rpg fans will want to buy a 360 for exclusives (If they remain that way)--such as Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Fable II, Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, and Magna Carta 2.  I did and I use to be a diehard Sony fan.  I just couldn't stand missing out on all the rpg's on the 360 (or the ones coming soon).  So I finally decided to quit supporting a "console" and start supporting the "genre" that I love.

Square will just feed us bullshit about how great of PS3 is and how they are going to use all of the console's power blah blah blah for FFVXIII

ps3 can have ff13 verus, i could care less for a stupid spinoff. i love rpg's and the 360 is the only place for rpg's this gen. i got rid of my ps3 because ff13 was the only reason i had got it, and with no rpg's coming out worth my money, i decided to keep the only hd system that cares about the rpg fans.

ps3 doesnt have more potential than the 360, anyone who thinks that is just plain dreaming.

Is Magna Carta 2 still coming? I haven't heard anything about it in ages.

OT: Personally, I think Versus will be just as big as the actual FFXIII.  SE has stated that both titles, and not just one, are the core of the XIII Universe, and Versus is being made by Nomura's team!  If it had been a new IP, it probably would've been very successful, given how successful KH was last gen (KH1 outsold FFXII), and given the fact that the World Ends With You has been heralded by many to be SE's greatest RPG in years.  The brand recognition that comes with FF will only help what should be an excellent game sell even better.

Nomura's greatness + the Final Fantasy name = success.

Assuming Versus stays exclusive (which I admit is a rather bold assumption), wouldn't any FF fan who'd be willing to buy a system for the series still buy a ps3 because it's the only way to get both FFXIII titles?

I don't care what Bongo thinks! D:< In terms of graphical and technology capabilities...from what we've seen the PS3 and 360 are exactly the same. We haven't seen a PS3 game that is beyond what the 360 is capable of and vice versa.

1)Bongo is awesome...

2)Comparing the 360 and ps3 capabilities is out of order...Ps3 is clear winner when it comes to capability.

There are also people who would have bought a PS3 for FF XIII and picked up Versus Later on but who won't buy the PS3 for Versus.
