Do you say
#1 - "root"
or
#2 - "raowt" like wow
I say #1
I say "Roat" as in wrote, boat, coat, and roast.
Or in a sentence: I wrote that Jote rode the Route hiding a roast and toy boat in her coat.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
In Dutch it's Root-uh, in english I say root. Rout when people din't understand me the first time.

Oh I always have different pronounciation of words.
For example:
For "Wow I've never heard it said that way..."
Wow as in Toe, I've as in Eve, Never as in beaver, heard as in beard, it as in eat, said as in paid, that as in thought, way as in why.
It becomes "Whoa E've neaver heared eet sayed thot wy..."
Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita
Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte
Sugu yoko de waratteita
Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo
I will never leave you
It depends which pronunciation flows better in the sentence.
Both are appropriate, according to Merriam-Webster and Cambridge.
In English, there isn't so much right and wrong as common and uncommon. Someone with a degree in English would argue against that, but English degrees pretty much guarantees that the person knows nothing about communication. English is different than other languages of Europe because there is no official academy.
Roat or "Wrote" is uncommon (read: wrong) and ambiguous sounding. I have heard people say it this way, in the Mid west, but it's more of an accent then a pronunciation.
Edit:
@Dweti: after reading that last post, I am very glad that I don't know you in real life.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
I knew that my speaking would be laughed at.
I pity those who have not learned Ultra English.
It is the next form of English. It has no exceptions or contradictions in rules.
It is the reason why i speak with such different pronunc. "Pronounciation" has been shortened in Ultra English because it was too hard to spell.

^Contradictions like Wrote and Route? Hmmm... I think ultra english needs some more work... or to be stopped...
Guess which one gets my vote?
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
