Forums - Nintendo - Did Nintendo Screw Lucasarts with Wii motion plus?

Well why couldn't they just add an option for later use to allow Motion Plus control input? But then again this is a good thing cuz the only game that would make use of it from LA is Clone Wars and I'd much prefer it to be a more realistic looking SW game or set sometime during episodes IV-VI that uses the Motion Plus.

Edit:  a new Rogue Squadron game using the Motion Plus would be badass cuz then we could have realistic flight controls... you could hold the Wiimote vertical like a flight joystick and do all kinds of maneuvers with it!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

i could understand wanting the wiimote to be more accurate but 1:1 sword fighting/lightsaber sounds incredibly retarded imo

How does that make sense? Realistic swordfighting sounds retarded?

:

Kinda, because you will have to stand up while playing and you will be tired after 15 minutes.

1:1 controls are nice for minigames but for games that you want to play for few hours straight I don't know ... my hand got tired after 3 hours of Zelda and I was just barelly moving my hand. Realistic swordfighting ? No thanks, I'd rather go practice the real sport.

you know, this is the third article i've seen about LA being "pissed" and not a single one of them contain any quotes from LA. Just a statment of LA wanting to make a lightsaber game....translating that to "LA is totally pissed" seems to take a lot of liberties imo.

This is the age of the internet. We can make assuptions, take liberties, and make things up as long as they are posted on a Blog it's consider true. At least that's what the Internet People keep saying.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Soul Calibur Legends tried that.  You swung the Wiimote and your character did the appropriate attack (horizontal, vertical, stab).  It gets VERY tiring.

exactly I'm someone that practiced the real sport and the idea having it in a video game sounds extremely tiring

The irony is that the feakin' Castlevania developers realized such control would be best for a fighting game.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

"Did Nintendo Screw Lucasarts with Wii motion plus?"

No, LucasArts screwed LucasArts about a decade ago...

Yea they screwed them haha. I mean that's definitely something they should have told them about. I mean it seems that the people making Red Steel 2 had some inside on the project but Lucasarts didn't. I mean come on Nintendo that's just damn stupid. Hopefully there is a way they can make it so that it can be adaptable to motionplus support.

It is interesting that (1) I cannot find the original source and (2) that source is supposedly Game Informer which is not exactly pro-Wii.

More to the point, Nintendo could have told executives at Lucas Arts, who then said, "Don't worry about it. We're laying off everyone as soon as this is ready to ship, so we aren't going to take time to add WiiMotionPlus (WMP)."

looking at the original game informer article it was just some guy saying that lucasarts was the most upset about not knowing about wii motion+, and furthermore Game informer could just be full of it as they said every developer they talked to didn't know about wii motion plus, when it is established that Ubisoft and others already knew about it, and then kotaku goes and really mis-construes upset to really angry about it,

I'd file this under Kotaku is run by half wit's and call it a day
