Notes:

  • Phantasy Star Portable numbers are off....A lot, between MC and Famitsu. MC is reporting about 38,000 more units sold through than Famitsu.
  • Tales of Vesperia numbers are slightly different - 8% to be exact. Not a big deal. But I wonder if MC will report higher X360 hardware too?
  • Looks like Media Create gave Dragon Quest V a boost in sales vs. Famitsu this week...Very similar LTD numbers, but different weekly numbers. I would think that one is adjusting vs. the other.
  • Soul Calibur IV had a 66% drop for the week. Very good for SCIV, though.

Pretty massive difference between Famitsu and Media Create for Phantasy Star (unless the Famitsu number being in parenthesis means it is an early estimate or something.).

Edit: DQV is off as well, and it is also in parenthesis for y-koron's Famitsu chart.

No idea. I will take MC's word on PSPPSP...

If true, and it's at 490k now...Holy cow. Sega has a bonafide hit. Lets hope for PSV.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Nice numbers for Tales.

cool bit of data and good for Sega. They spend time changing a game to make it more fun and accesible; and they find great success!

Bad drop for SC 4 on 360. I still expected it in the top 20 after it did well in it's first week.

Some actually pretty good sales on Sony platforms in Japan.

Strange week for Japan...

Looks like DS outsold PSP, and 360 outsold PS3 as expected.

Soul Calibur 4 tracking above Soul Calibur 2. Will PSP (Phantasy Star Portable) be Sega's savior?

Good for Tales of Vesperia. About 60 % of Tales of Symphonia on 10% of the install base size for first week.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
