Forums - Sony - Does the graphics bother you for the PS1 and PS2 games?

my friend lent me FFVII a few years back and i couldn't even play it then because the graphics were just so terrible, and that was when i was used to Dreamcast graphics.

no they dont really affect me

Some PS1 games look dated, but since I have used systems from all gens it doesn't bother me at all.

Nope. Helps not being a graphics whore. Although FF7 looks really terrible.

Couldn't be helped was an early PS1 game.

Doesn't really bother me. I still have my Super Famicom(aka SNES) hooked up to my tv. I've also been playing a lot of Diablo II on my computer(a game from 2000!) I love retro gaming :)

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

SNES games dont bother me at all because it always has a clear straight forward image, like super mario, but it's just the PS1 and PS2 games when they made the jump to 3D and I agree with c0rd that they made the jump a little to early it's hard to make out alot of things.

Oh yeh and everyone is saying Final Fantasy VII is the worst of all if you play it right now, I haven't played it yet on my new HDTV I should give it a try to see what all the fuss is about lol

i don't mind the graphics in old games. As long as the game has a good story going and not bugged down big with glitches that make it unbearable i'm fine.

i mean heck i played ocarina of time a year ago and it was just as awesome as i remember. sure the first half hour i was thinking about the graphics a bit, but then i pretty much forgot them totally and almost imagined them like TP graphics.

That is how graphics are. You may think they are amazing at the time, but play it ten years later and you think wow look at all those jaggies and not smooth at all. yet when youa re playing and remember it you think it is all smooth

Its like those reading things where they switch up letters and what not yet your mind automatically organizes them without you knowing and you can read it fine.

Depends on the game.

i played MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 over the last few months to get back into the swing and the story of it, and i thought MGS2 and MGS3 looked really good, unless it was my PS3 doing some magical upscaling or summert, i dont know, but i was suprised, i thought they were going to look crap

well graphics don't matter to me as long as Story, gameplay, and quality overweights the graphics category. Examples: GTAs for PS2, FFs for PSone.
