I have a better idea. You just go and download Super Metroid right now.

Although... if you really want to hear why Metroid Prime 3 is way worse than the first two games:

It doesn't have one big overworld, just some lame small ones, you don't have to backtrack at all, because your ship can just take you everywhere, there's too much shooting, too little puzzling, the music sucks most of the time, the Valhalla level is too scary if you play it while it's getting dark(there's still some daylight when you start, but when you save the game and quit everything is dark and you didn't even notice), human NPC models look kind of scary, there's quite a lot of illogical one-time scans(like the Aurora Unit in Sky Town- keep your eyes on that one), the game is way more fragmented, so you don't just travel through an area to be surprised with a boss, but you just go to a leviathan to beat one, for example, the controls aren't THAT much better than the controls of the first two games imo, the Metroid Dread-reference doesn't mean anything, it's just a mean joke, the graphics in the cut-scenes are so pointy that a fakir from India would cry out for mommy from just seeing it(this is on a HDTV only).

That about sums up everything. Most things that are bad about it are because the game had two really great prequels, you should definately try those out some time.
Sleep at night with this in mind: I'm waiting for a game that's not nearly as good as its predecessors.

You'll be surprised how damn good it is when you play it.

You guys won't believe this but my initial order at sendit.com got lost so I had to wait 1 month to know if it will arrive eventually or if I'll get a refund. Finally the refund came last Friday and I've placed a new order on shopto.net which arrived this morning.

Needless to say I played it 10 hours straight. Amazing game and freaking sweet graphics for a Wii lol. I hope MP4 is in development already because I know I will need more Metroid once I'm done with MP3.

This is my first Metroid for me as the Wii is my first console (expect terminator back in the 90's lol).

I know that you guys will recommend me getting the older versions but I won't. Games are best played at their time not years after. You may enjoy the older versions but that's because you played them at their time and now your remembering your initial feeling.

I never cared much for the Metroid Prime games. Too much backtracking and too little weapon and gameplay variety for an FPS.

There is the problem. You want an Fps when it really is an Action Adventure.

You must play 1 & 2 first to really enjoy 3...

Convince you it's a bad game or at least give you something you will dread? Two words:

FETCH QUEST

There are few things I hate more in games than fetch quests, especially when they occur at the end of the game and span multiple worlds as they do in MP3.  I think I even hate fetch quests more than quick time events.

Those problems are addressed in the 3rd game, which is arguably the best in the series. Better controls, story, less backtracking, and no gun changing.

It's one of the best games this gen. Graphics are fantastic, and not just for a Wii game. They're detailed, interesting, beautiful, and spectacular. The gameplay is difficult, unforgiving even, and the game is very well paced.

I'd give it a 9/10, with the only drawback being lack of character development and sparse storyline....and the ending fetch quest, which is tedious.
