Forums - Sales - Wow, Enchanted Arms sold 150k PS3 vs 140k 360?

Pretty poor example of a JRPG, or maybe just a reflection of what the genre's becoming without any real source of innovation.

I actually bought this for the PS3, but was completely unable to get into the plot or the characters.

If it sold better on the PS3, my guess would be it's due to the complete lack of any strong JRPGs on the platform. It's become one of the PS brand genre mainstays that has gone sorely overlooked with the PS3.

Considering it was a late port to the ps3, it should've sold less, as just about all other late ports have done. When Oblivion hit the ps3, it was also one of the only good games on the system, and it stayed that way from March until August of 2007, yet the 360 version still sold substantially more.

This bodes well for future sales of JRPGs on the ps3, and thus future third party support in this area.

The sales of the upcoming Eternal Sonata ps3 port should be interesting.

Neither have EU numbers

Which means the ps3 version may have outsold the 360 version by even more.

Very high numbers for a game of such low quality.

Indeed, however, some would argue that the genre is niche and unpopular.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@Zen that would make it "niche and unpopular" on both platforms meaning that wouldn't make a difference.

When a game this bad can sell 300k units, there is a hungry fanbase back there somewhere, besides the fact that Final Fantasy is one of the few videogame franchises that could be considered "mainstream" and "beloved?" It's easier to call shooters niche, because there is at least one region that dislikes those. There is no doubt that JRPGs aren't niche in the videogame world, as long as Japan exists, and Final Fantasy(and most every square enix game for that matter) manages to sell millions of copies, and churn up tons of hype. If you wanna talk about America, that's a different story. My opinion still maintains that the genre is one of the most popular in the states, and by no means niche, however.

Everything I say manages to find at least one person to disagree with me lately.

Edit: Oh, you were thinking that I was using the "niche and unpopular" think to explain or perhaps damage control the PS3's victory in the sales race for the game. No, I assure you that I care very little about that, and didn't have it in mind when I made my comment. The PS3 almost certainly sells JRPGs better than any other console. The reason I originally bought one was for JRPGs, afterall. Back then I saw the Xbox as a FPShooter machine, even though I had an original Xbox that I enjoyed relatively well.

DMC 4 - PS3 sales figures are higher than the DMC 4 - X360 sales figures too
Enchanted Arms is a terrible game and I would not recommend it to anyone. It is a crap JRPG.

EnChanted Arms such a quality game, lol. This game should be ported to the Wii. It would sell a million on the Wii like every other game on the Wii.

Well, I kind of liked it...

Skeeuk and me versus all of you haters!
