i'm really surprised never thought that the ps3 would break that easily
my ps1 and ps2 are amazing, we are a big family and the ps2 is on all the time and never breaks , the only problem that it has is dust collecting
anyway i'm sorry for u ,,, :) i can't imagine that happening to me
i say wait till u they prodoce SKUs that produce less heat and better design
they did that with ps1 and ps2 ,
besides , 360 is having great games this months , they will keep u busy ;)

WHOA!!!  If he waits for Sony to come out with a redesigned SKU he will be waiting for quite a while.  As of right now they seem to be at least 1-2 years away from that, and we all know how big Sony's big hitters are that will be coming out in that time frame.

lol ,, then what can he do ?

it seems that he lives in an oven ,, 2 ps3s broke beacuse of heat ,

then god be with u squilliam, just repair it

and buy an A\C to keep it cool XD

squilliam stop making stuff up to get attention !!
i mean if u dont care about the ps3 why would u make a thread like this other than to ignite a fanboy war !
oh and readers just a lil proof hes a story teller " ((I positively molest my Xbox360. Its practically next to my heater and I absolutely treat my PS3 like a saint in comparison.
WERE IN THE MIDST OF SUMMER WHO HAS THERE HEAT ON !!!! AND WHY WOULD PUT YOUR CONSOLE BY A HEATER WHEN U CAN PUT IT SAFELY NEXT/ABOVE/UNDER ur tv !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean if u can put ur ps3 away from ur so called heater couldnt u put ur 360 next to it!!!!!
oh and to answer ur last question , get rid of ur ps3 and stop striving for attention behind ur lil screened pc

@gimmebanana IS it summer in New Zealand? I thought when it was summer in the Northern hemisphere it would be winter in the southern hemisphere and vice versa.

Ignoring what I presume is a joke there are of course very unhappy PS3 owners somewhere suffering from multiple console failures (there has to be thanks to law of averages).

But of course there are even more unhappy 360 owners (as it fails more often)... and as ever its not your individual woes that matter but the overall average - and here if nowhere else the PS3 creams the 360: it's simply a better, more solid piece of consumer electronics.

Funnily enough I'm now on my third PS3 (no cost of repair yet) so I speak from a place of deep knowledge personally as well as being aware of publicly available figures.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

ok work with me here....

your fan is broke right?
you sold all the games you had on ps3?
you need a reason to keep it?

ok with the money you got from selling the games you go to your local store that has cool air fans. buy 2-3 of then and position then around the ps3 at all times. this will keep it cool (maybe even buy a window ac unit and prop your ps3 on a stand so that the ac unit blows on it at all times) :p

as for the reason...thats up to you. do you want to play LBP? how bout heavy rain? a possibly non-dumbed down version of ffxiii (key word possibly...arses)? what about killzone2? maybe you like resistance and want to play resistance2? what about fat princess? tekken perhaps? maybe god of war 3? like blu-ray movies?

lol its up to you...but thats my suggestions :]

Its the middle of winter! Bah! Oh and btw I don't get TOV until next year because im in PAL and Too Human doesn't release until early next month.

At the moment im more upset that I can't finish my play through of God Of War 2 than any PS3 games im missing out on. I can't get the saved games off the PS3, I Don't know how! I have the transfer unit and a memory card...

Its the middle of Winter here... :) Currently theres frost on the ground outside.

Yeah, definately LBP - KZ2 - Heavy Rain - Infamous - God of War 3, don't like Blu Ray though... but I was about to check out Lord of the Rings in Blu Ray.

So with LBP - Heavy Rain - God of War 3 I can think of at least three things I would definately miss without a PS3.
