Gamespot previews are almost invariably positive, though. A lot of times they'll pan in their review a game they seemed pretty high on in the previews.

You mean damage control. I said the game sucked. I said it sucked a week ago. I said it sucked a month ago. My point was that despite the fact that PS3 owners wish they had something to own 360 owners with as big as the Haze fail, or the FFXIII loss, this imo, isn't is.

I haven't seen many people hyping this game, with big hype threads, like MGS4 or Brawl. Haze was hyped for weeks preceeding its release, and many PS3 fans are reported to have rented or even purchased the game. So was LAIR. Also Haze's first review was from IGN in the 3s. It was and is universally hated.

However, call it what it is, friend. If you wanna accuse me of damage control, do it. There's no response I could give, in this thread.

Just remember, it's always personal.

If LBP, Resistance 2, Fable 2, Gears 2, or even Killzone 2 flopped, that would be a major thing. Was there really anyone hyping Too Human as a AAA game, much less a top of the line epic game?

I think your probably just a PS3 fanboy trying to create fictional dissapointment from 360 fans, just so you can have something to rub in. Disclaimer: If that isn't true, I don't care. I don't know you, and I don't follow your posting history. Frankly, I don't like your assertion. If I feel my posts are "damage control" I'll state that up front. In this case, I think I stated a common opinion.

An example is hard to find. PS3 gets very little underhyped exclusives. Even PSN games like Fat Princess have monumental hype. I'm remiss to create a game, because it's a bad example, so lets just use the PSP. Let's say Tom Clancy's End War flopped for the PSP, and I went around to Sony fanboys talking about how hyped it was, and how it was exactly like Haze. Now assume that previews for Tom Clancy's End War from popular sites like Kotaku have been very negative. Now lets say when you told me you didn't care, nor did most Sony fanboys, I told you that was simply damage control, and surely you must be crying on the inside.

It's exactly the same thing.

I don't expect a response from a troll, however. Would you really feed yourself to me, or do you think your argument can stand up to scrutiany and evidence that is easily accessable?

Is that before the game was announced to only have 2 player co-op, and before it was revealed exactly how short the game was, or how repetitive the enemies and levels are?

That's a year ago, back when the game actually was hyped by the internet.

It's becoming apparent to me that Sony fanboys don't follow 360 exclusives well enough to know if 360 fans have actually lost interest.

Why don't you go on GAF or Kotaku and ask how "hyped" this game was over the last couple of months, to knowledgable gamers.

What? Is this true? If so then I'm holding on to my money....

If ditching a game before its release counts as not hyping it then why do you count Haze against PS3 fans?

I actually agree. I said earlier, this game wasn't really hyped as much as Sony fans try to claim. I think most people expected average-mediocre scores based off the many, many previews that said this game wasn't AAA.

"Too Human has been characterized as a vaunted legendary ace up the 360s sleeve that might amaze everone, for a long time now."

As for that statement, a year ago, yes, it was very hyped. Two months ago, not so much. Last month, since the GAF debacle and the previews, interest waned significantly.

Nobody was making "Too Human" threads like they were just before Haze, MGS4, or even Tales of Vesperia were/are released. It just wasn't very hyped lately.

I agree with your assessment of the timeline of hype: it was much-hyped before, and now not so much.  So the difference is, there have been indications ratcheting down the expectations little by little, where in other cases games are slammed all at once by negative reviews.  There's no free pass for a 7-years-in-the-making game just because bad press came in small bursts rather than a gusher.

People didn't expect mediocre scores a year ago, I'll say that.  So its hype peaked early, after only 6 years in the making...so what.

Anyway, the game isn't out yet, and I don't advocate we put all our stock in the video game press' numerical rating system, anyway.  I'm just saying...at its height, the hype for Too Human far exceeded the hype for Haze at its height, which is one problem with calling Too Human "360's Haze."

this game is not on the same level as hazlo. some ps3 fans, for whatever reason, saw that haze was shaping up to be less than great and still were all aboard the hype train insisting it be a great game and a great seller. While some x360 fans might have hyped up too human to a small extent, that died off once the demo hit... hell even before that i didn't see much mention of it. In this regard I think ps3 fans here could learn something from x360 fans. That said, I really want to try this along with castle crashers.

You call me a troll??? After I said this...

"I wouldn't wory to much about this for now. This is just one review. But if the mass majority of the reviews are like this if not lower, then I'd worry. Being a fan of the original Siren on the PS2, Siren received anywhere from a 9/10 to a 4/10 which resulted in a 70% average rating after it was all said and done. But for me, the game was worth the $5 rental and then the full $40 price tag shortly after. Let's not jump the gun, people, and don't put too much faith in numerical ratings."

My original post does nothing but FAVORS positive reasoning for the ratings and enjoyment of Too Human. But I guess all of my posts must be exclusively "TOTALLY XBOX" for you to considered me a reasonable gamer. But not that your selective opinion matters much anyway. Troll??? Speak for yourself. Why would a troll ever downplay the single 6.75 rating and expresses that the gameplay to the individual player counts more than the numerical score unless I'm of the Xbox breed? Instead, maybe we should all take this single 6.75 score as gospel and move on. I don't think as such, and you call ME a troll? Sadness...

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

Too Human was hyped by fans because it was so many years in development under the capable silicon knights and also because when it first announced it made a big impression but that was maaaany years ago. This hype followed the title until nowdays. So i don't think Ms hyped the game. Just wonder what if Too Human was first announced last year. No one would expect so many things and no one would be surprised from low score reviews.

All your posts are mutually exclusive. You can get it right a thousand times and get it wrong once, and you've successfully trolled.

Your post earlier, directed at me, seemed to add nothing to the conversation. It was an accusation, that you didn't feel the need to explain. It could have and likely was founded from fanboyistic motivations.

We can't judge you on what you think. Good intentions don't matter. It's what you do that matters.

As for your assertion that I downplayed a 6.75 rating, I didn't. I said many times in this post that I do now, and always have thought the game will suck.

My only assertion on this topic, or at least my main one is that most knowledgable Xbox 360 owners, who followed the development and previews of the game, had a general idea that this game was not gonna rank AAA status from some reviewers.

Your original post has nothing to do with the trolling you did afterwards. Tell me, since you don't think making throw away passive-agressive comments without backup or reasoning after another posters long post that obviously took time for him to write, that also contains the assertion that said person is a fanboy and simply using "damage control" to downplay a game's review, classifies as trolling, then what exactly do you think trolling is?

You've made two very dire incorrect assertions here.

A. I never downplayed the score. In fact, I never commented on the score at all in the post you quoted. I simply said the game wasn't hyped and had poor previews. In another post I stated that I believe the game is probably not that great.

B. You assert that someone who trolls can't also make a regular post. I actually try to bait trolls into making posts with thought and reasoning behind them, because often the reason they troll is that they can't form a cohesive argument to experess their opinion. You made a regular post, yes, then you replied to my post with a troll.

Sounds like downplaying here.  Nothing personal though.

Is trolling. Not to mention it's based on incorrect assumptions. At best, it's attempting to marginalize my post with fanboyistic motivations. At worst it's a meritless troll attempting to offend me.

If you're gonna be a real poster, you have to be a real poster all of the time. Not 99 percent of the time. Always.

You build a thousand bridges and kill one man, you're not a bridgebuilder, you're a murderer.

As for this particular game. It doesn't matter. This discussion ceased being about the game when you responded to my post with Sounds like downplaying here. Nothing personal though.

No matter how much you talk or reason your way into thinking that you were in the right to post that, you weren't. You can't change that. No amount of reasoning can change it.

To switch completely off topic for a second, I agree, numerical scores don't matter. However, from reading previews, I wouldn't rent this game if it had a 90 average.

Thanks for responding, btw.
