Yeah, the situation is pretty bad, and is probably going to get worse before it gets better, but I still think Russia will stop relatively soon so that they won't soil their reputation across the world.

Yeah, that pisses me off too. I even went to Fox and they talked about Russia and Georgia in passing then switched to some guy talking about pills. This forum has been the most I've heard about this conflict, which is really kind of sad.

Basically my opinion can be summed up as this; 'What the fuck is Russia thinking?'.

They're pretty good friends actually

Russia is one of Iran's biggest trading partners and the only thing keeping them from being better friends was Russias reliance on the west. This is going to force the west to put more pressure on Russia which in turn is going to push them closer to Iran.

Which is why Israel esclating it doesn't make sense... since Israel would want russia's ties to iran be weakened not strengthened.
