But the Wii is destroying the industry that graph cant be true, congratulations Nintendo.

Yes, we know the Wii is beating everyone, but how does this prove that third party games sell well on the Wii?

(not my position, but struggling to understand why Nintendo chose to use THAT graph)

Most of those sales are from Nintendo games

Did Nintendo create that graph?

But those are all the shovlewarez and the casualz gamez that sell. Core gamez don't sell. And if they are first party core gamez and sell well they don't count. ;) Just look at No More Heroez and Zack and Wiki'z salez. They are such flopz.

VGC NA sales for first 19 months:

Wii - 64.3M

X360 - 38.6M (largely incomplete)

Ps3 - 33.8M

Minus 10% would be

Wii - 58M

X360 - 35M

Ps3 - 30M

As opposed to NPD, which has roughly this (your graph)

Wii - 55M

X360 - 33M

Ps3- 22M

So we are  5% above them on Wii, and 36% above them on Ps3. Their data isn't any more complete than ours considering X360. They don't count MGS bundles, so that could affect Ps3 a bit, still, I don't see how 36% is possible.

All of the above is roughly estimated.

It's my thread. It's a bit old, but some interesting info perhaps.

The graph was made by Nintendo but the data is from NPD.

Take away half of those sales. Still beating the PS3's overall sales.

Do a graph with just 3rd party sales. Wii almost certainly still beating the PS3.

Userbase is absolutely true, but also damage control, as are all excuses and explainations as to why facts exist.

VGC counts Wii Sports. NPD does not.
