Forums - Sales - Will the conduit be a system seller? Also, how well will COD5 on wii sell?

Conduit will not be a system seller.

CoD5 could do really well with good controls. 1-2 million perhaps?

Conduit: System seller no, good seller yes

COD5: System seller no, outsell COD3 yes

Conduit has no ability to be a system seller. Wii doesn't need another one anyways.

Conduit if it is truly polished and rated high, 9.0+ average, and gets a publisher who isn't afraid of advertising it like it was CoD or GTA etc, it should move 1m+ as it fits a good demographic that is not currently marketed on Wii.

CoD5 will sell easy 1m and may 2m depending on how close its performance and features are to that of its HD counterparts. If the Wii version continues to look as similar as the above pic and matches all of the other features like online etc, and has the superior controls it could feasibly even outsell the PS3 version. Assuming 360>PS3 in sales as usual.

Personally, I will pick up Conduit but I won't get Cod5 unless it is too good to miss. I will have to rent/borrow it first.

I hope The Conduit sells well (I will be getting it) but somehow I doubt it. I would say it has a 60% chance of hitting a million which would be great for the game. It would probably a pretty good success at 750K and even a success at 500K but the million mark is just so nice for the game and the console and would help the Wii's library out.

I think COD5 will sell better than COD3 on the Wii (which if memory serves never broke a million but ended up between a million and 750k, i'll have to check on that). I think it has a real chance at breaking a million and I will also be buying this (but not day 1 like The Conduit).

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

looking at cod 4 sell that was the biggest game seller in 2007

it will sell alot less than xbox360 ps3.

it will be around the million.

conduit no idea, even i like hardcore games that game doesn't have either a story that interested of the game of vibe it sell you i'm awesome like assasin creed or versus.

CoD 5 'bout 1 to 2 million, The Conduit will selll about a million maybe more, and i dont think it will sell any extra wiis. I mean the wii technicly sells itself.

To the untrained eye, they seem similar...

To me, the only thing similar there is the flames coming out of that flamethrower. A lot of COD4's game sales came from people wanting to play it online and the Wii version of COD5 will be seriously gimped in that respect.

I wouldn't call The Conduit a system seller, though I'd say it has the potential to do well.  It won't open with many sales, but if the game is exceptional, the legs may carry it over a million.  As for CoD5, I agree with 1-2mil.

The Conduit probably won't make a visible dent in system sales. It can't: the Wii is still selling out everywhere, and you can't sell consoles that don't exist.

Besides, a system-seller needs a strong brand behind it. The Conduit doesn't: as the only game in its franchise thus far, there has been no opportunity to build up the brand. FF1, while certainly popular, wasn't a system seller either, nor were GTA or Halo.

No, I wouldn't go that far.  There are plenty of non-sequels that sold systems - see Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports, Tetris, Pokemon, Brain Training, Nintendogs, Goldeneye, etc.

Good controls and online multiplayer.

If there is no online multiplayer they will have seriously dropped the ball. Then again, CoD3 did nearly 400k in America despite being labeled mediocre so who knows...

How do you know? I haven't seen any of the online details so far and other Wii games, MoHHeroes 2, has 32 player online. Only big difference was voip to other fps online games, with the exception of better controls for Wii.
