Forums - Microsoft - Looks like Tales of Vesperia has had a good debut in Japan...

Tales of Vesperia will be a great game. I understand why people are waiting in line to get it. I'm more patient than that (and I work during the day) but I understand.

We should see how well the Japanese gamers receive ToV before we determine whether it is a great game or not.  Famitsu aren't very reliable anymore since they admitted to giving scores based on hype

So far the few people I know who have it have been logged into XBL since the Tales icon appeared in they're gamertag. Its either good or really addicting :P

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Alright. I hope this game is good. I want to buy it. Just give me a reason Namco.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Remember though, there was a demo on XBLA.

Yes, but didn't a lot of people hate the demo.  Or atleast not very impressed with it.

It's not so much that people hated Tales because of the demo, but hated the fact that the demo wasn't that great. It just threw you into a random part of the game with very little explanation of the Tales battle system.

FYI: Play Asia is totally out of stock of the ToV bundles...And it looks like they're not getting anymore in.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It looks like Microsoft's attempts to woo the Japanese market are paying off, at least in some small way--average weekly sales have increased by a few thousand for the last month or two.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Ugh I have to wait another 9 months for this game :(;

I hope this game gets Microsoft WELL above Sony this week in Japanese sales. Atleast we know someone is still trying in Japan **cough*cough*Sony*cough*, I want to see effort paying off already.

it seems like japan is being ignored by everyone except ms.  the big third parties in japan are catering to the us, the console companies are catering to us and europe, and ms is still fighting for every single sale.

My guess is that Sony is focusing more on the handheld market in Japan instead of the console.

But as far as nintendo goes.... they really don't need effort at this point (sadly).

I agree and hopefully we do. It's about time Japan starts to warm up to the 360.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
