2 Gigs is fine for now especially if your running XP. You should be good for the Q4 and Q1 09 releases before you start wishing you had more.

Well, thanks to KoW, I got sidetracked and forgot to thank you guys. Well, thanks.

2GB should easily last you until this gen ends, and throughout most last the next generation. So, probably around 7 years.

You can have max 2gb ram and u already have 2 gb ram. You can pretty much do nothing to change the situation unless you change motherboards. Right now, all games will need only 2gb ram so u don't have to worry... next year or so, u'll probably start getting games where u will be required to play using the min sys requirements. :)

There is no such thing as future proof... Bill gates had famously said that .6mb was just about enough to do everything. Your 2000mb is not apparently ;)

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

Now I regret ever using that word. It was just a word I thought people were familiar with but apparently not in the way I want it to meant. However, it all seems good then as the minimum settings of tommorrow will equal the high settings of today.

But anyways, Bill Gates never said that. It was misattributed to him somehow and spread like wildfire. Go internet.

@shio 7??? That's a little bit too optimistic don't you think? I was hoping for at max, 3 years.

Most new computers come with 6gb to 8gb of ram now, so 2gb sounds really low.

would have been nice for xp... for 32 bit 4 gig min, i run 6 gig on 64 bit, but would like more... running a system on ram with no hd cach makes it much much fast

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

If you have XP you should be fine for a good while. A lot of games are also on consoles and it isn't like they have a lot of ram for the developers to play around with.

Bahaha, no they don't. They don't at all. Windows XP 32 bit doesn't even recognize 4 GB of RAM and above...

Most new retail computers come with 2-3 GB of ram standard.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
