I'd have to agree about weapons in Super Smash Bros Melee. It's part of the game, and it still takes skill to use items correctly. Although I do see the merit in competing without items as well. Makes it more intense usually. SSBM is definitely my favorite game, and I really do well at it. My friends love it too, but lately they get sick of playing, because I can often beat 3 of them vs. me. I'm usually Samus, because she's strong, fast, and has a few advanced moves that other players do not, like Bomb Dashing, Wall Jumping, Extended Grapple, Grapple Recover, Bomb Recovery...umm, a few more. I'm not that great at Wavedashing because I'm accustomed to jumping with the control stick...so it's a lot harder to wavedash. I generally don't need it though. I'm considering getting into some tournaments pretty soon, there's some in the area in a couple weeks.

Hey elprincipe, I never said I couldn't handle the weapons. How dare you put me in that category. In fact it's too easy for me when I use weapons, but if your going to play "competitvely" weapons can change the outcome of a match and give a less skilled player a chance of winning. Example- You and your opponent both have one stock left and you have your opponent to a point in which you can easily ko them. All of a sudden you get hit by an offscreen bob-omb. There are also those random stars and things that just don't go in your favor even if you are better with weapons. Also not using weapons is NOT like not using fireballs in Street Fighter. Each player has their own moves in SSMB. If I didn't use Mario's fireball, that is like not using a fireball in Street Fighter. Weapons are separate from the player you are using. Like I said before, weapons make the game random, but they also make it so darn fun. Playing for fun is with weapons, playing to be the best is without. The reason I say no to the weapons is because this is supposed to be about downright skill.

F-Zero X... I'm probably not as good as 2 years back, but still a superior gamer been in the world top 50. I'm pretty good at all 2D fighting games (KOF, Street Fighter, Capcom Vs SNK...). Haven't played SSBM for 2 years, but everytime, I kicked everyone's ass! Let's not forget Metal slug 2 & 3...

I have very, very few talents in life. One of the few is N64 four player. MarioKart 64, Turok 2, Bomberman 64, Quake 64, Wynback; Always ends the same. It ends with three people screaming "He's gotta be cheating!, Lets get him", and yet they never do. Oh and belching. That's my other talent
