I'm actually fully expecting Wii Music to be a sucky casual game. As former King Nintendo Fanboy, I think you're mistaken.
That said, I've been thinking that about LBP for months.
Don't get me wrong. You have no reason to worry. The game will get amazing reviews on how much fun the demos are to play. Just don't expect a real, good, core title out of the deal. LBP is your Wii Fit or a Halo 3. You probably shouldn't actually buy it, but you should pretend to support it, and use it as an excuse to get everyone to buy the console, because it will sell a lot of copies.
It's a platformer that uses user created content. It's not a badass core title. It's Boom Blox with more hype and an online mode. If you want games like this, you've got a Wii.
This is all just my opinion from seeing previews of the game, and understanding the genre and gameplay style in which it falls. I can see where this very unpopular opinion is coming from. There are a lot of games I want to buy this fall. LBP wouldn't make my list if it was called Mario Galaxy 2. The whole "user created content" think is kinda "meh." Seems like a game I'd spend about 4 hours with at most.
That said, again, this is your Wii-Fit. You should flame this post, immediately. I won't take offense, just this once. My vastly unpopular opinion, here, is open to being torn down. Enjoy. ;D
It's like Left 4 Dead. I know that I was dissapointed when I heard it was required to play through with other people(or AI controlled bots). I know I'm not the only one that was dissapointed that this awesome looking game was online oriented. Because, if it was a single player title from the getgo, everybody would be happy, and it would probably top everyones most wanted list. That's just how I look at it. The ideas, while interesting and innovative, might be flawed from the perspective of mass appeal to the CONSOLE market, out of the gate.
Nobody every said, "Man, I wish they replaced those crappy levels in Bioshock and SMG with user created content, and 4 player run and gun action."
