I am not entirely convinced Final Fantasy XIII will even remain exclusive in Japan. That is not to say the title will not be a timed exclusive, but its hard to imagine Square walking away from profit, and more to the point inviting importing or piracy on the part of the Japanese 360 owners. All for the cost of a few hundred dollars in code editing. Most 360 games come with multiple audio tracks anyway. So all that really needs to be done is to set the default, and implement any region coding.

I love it when people talk about Microsoft buying off developers when this is possibly the only example that leaves no doubt. There is no upside at all for Square to not provide a 360 release of the title in Japan. There is a huge upside for Sony however. Would anyone like to deny that it is a highly suspect the arrangement.

So, we should assume they are lying? Very well. I think they will release FFXIII for the 360 in Japan. i know they said they are gonna do it only for the PS3, but i really doubt they will sit and let some of their fanbase not have this game =))))))))

Why would you release a demo 6+ months before the game? I am sure SE wants to release FXIII just after the demo. People will be hyped for the demo. After playing the demo they will be hyped for the game. If they have to wait for half a year, the hype will die. It needs to be released a month after the demo.

Well, considering they lied about FFXIII for more than 2 1/2 years and majorly screwed a lot of PS3 owners, I wouldn't put it past them to f*** the 360 owners too. Not saying it's going to happen, but it would not surprise me in the least.

What I think will be is:

March 09 : demo
September 09: game on ps3 in Japan
April 10: game in North America

Seriously, if it took 2 years for Rockstar to get GTA4 and 4 for SE to do FFXIII, I think they're wasting some time somewhere.

youre assuming that SE is only making decisions based on kindness. Im sure it has nothing to do with MSFT only "asking" for it in their two strong and only realistic territorries......the reason its still exclusive in Jpan s probably due to MSFT not wanting to fork over even more money and probably sony being able to afford it to stay exclusive there.....and to be honest, thats th emost important territory for sony right now so of this terrible scenerio that sony is in regarding FF 13, i think theyre fortunate they still have it exclusive in japan.

360 pathetic user base in Japan is reason enough, how many do you think own a 360 in japan and not also a PS3 ?  The few that own it are liekly to be as hardcore gamers as they come, them not owning all the consoles is not very likely.

I'm not sure of other cases, but for FFXII, a Demo Disc was released with DQVIII and that was 11 months before release. However, that was for North America.

Another comparison is Devil May Cry, which was included with RE:Code Veronica X. That demo came out 3 months before release

You make it seem as if releasing on the PS3 first is illogical. If you were SE, would you release it when it's done (probably during the holdiays) and make a killer profit, or wait for 360 to be done to release the game, but have to cope with the usual downtime in the games industry from February-July(?)

PS. Your sarcasm sucks too....cause if they did that, then even if 100% of the 360 install base in Japan bought the game......they'd still be in the red. And if recent JRPGs sells on the 360 have any indication....there really isn't too much of a fanbase to not have the game lol
