Rock Band 2 has a staggered launch across 3 platforms.

Xbox 360: September 14th

PS3: October 19th

Wii: November 18th

I have to agree, the Wii version coming out last is a bit stupid though (C'mon Harmonix... Don't screw Wii owners over again). Now let's hope Guitar Hero: World Tour will only have one release date for all three versions...

Logistics.

RB is not just selling DVD case sized units; it's also selling peripherals.

They want to sell hardware bundles and they wouldn't sell the standalone game until those were ready to ship as well.

That's 3 different sets of peripherals they need to produce to launch across 3 platforms.

3 separate launches will undoubtedly do better than one mixed launch which could see shortages in certain regions depending upon individual demand for each platform.

Because RB Wii has just launched!! Give EA time to sell RB even if its a gimped version and doesnt deserve it. They want to build a fanbase that is eager to buy the second one. It's not a huge time difference, PS3 owners should feel more screwed. M$ and their moneyhats are getting annoying.

PES 09 does look stupid though, since they are releasing it so much further apart it really makes no sense.

I remember when the 360 Timed-Exclusivity came out, some people thought that this would be a big deal. Well a few months later it turns out it is only for 1-2 months.

If I'm Activision, I make sure I release Guitar Hero:World Tour for PS3/Wii before October 19th/November 18th.

I think this is a good thing. It just means that GHIV will get released befor Rockband 2 on the PS3 and Wii.

Well thats nice for the US, down here in Australia RockBand 1 for the 360 and PS3 still hasn`t been released although according to retailers it should come out in September.
