I really don't understand people complaining about the Wii having so much shovelware, I was in town today at several Gamingstores and I was shocked to see the amount of shovelware there were for PS3 and Xbox360.



If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

It's not as strange as it seems. Buzz will indeed appeal to kids but try to convince your parents to buy you a console just for that... That kind of marketing would work if the people already own the system.

DS has really been on fire lately in Others. But Nintendo's financial report said DS shipments in 'Others' were 3.65m. The quarter was 13 weeks...which means DS shipments were ~280k/week for Apr-June (13 weeks).

Its doing most of those numbers in Europe...but the little places like South Korea add up too.

 Speaking for Germany: there are no shortages for any console. I can go to the next retailer and buy 30 PS3 if I want to.

 

 Same for UK, no hint at all of any shortages for any of the formats. I think everytime the PS3 posts less numbers from the week before people will just say there is a shortage ;)

PSP/PS3/360 aren't doing bad.... it's just the success of the Wii and DS are making it them look bad....

[I swear I read something similar to this in some dudes signature a few weeks back....]

So at this rate (and if the trend continues, which is very likely) its safe to say the Wii will eventually hit 50% marketshare.

and this is during a period which is deemed a dry period for game releases.
