Forums - Sony - Sony: PS3's competitors feeling 'long in the tooth'

I think someone needs to show him that Nintendo is the one doing the leading, and that the 360 is doing the technical thing on the PS3's bootay.

And good luck on getting those PS2 owners to upgrade when they've already gone to the Wii and are wondering why they wouldn't be able to play their PS2 games on the PS3...

This is the same kind of PR BS that very nearly killed the PS3 and shat on Sony's rep before the console even came out. Just get those morons fired already!

haha. Good stuff. If you truly believe that, then I'd reccomend actually playing some PS3 games because as of now. Uncharted and MGS 4 both look better than anything available on 360. (However, I believe Gears 2 will steal that title come November)

Here is the link that crumas2 asked me to post. This blog was on Yahoo's main page in the days following E3. It actually doesn't say that Sony's Conference made the 360's games look old but that they make the 360's "lineup of Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 look a little tired."

I think the difference is, MS concentrated on games that people can actually buy in 2008.

You kidding? Their biggest demonstartion was RE5 which is in 2009 and MS's biggest annoucement was FF 13 which will be in 2010. Don't try to spout that crap.

I was talking about exclusive titles obviously. You can't say "360 games are tired" like the guy on the Yahoo blog did if that same game is coming out on PS3.

So screen tears, choppy animation and bad textures on a substantial number of PS3 multiplatform titles and even some exclusives (uncharted in particular) means PS3 is lightyears ahead of Wii and 360?

Outlawauron, I disagree about uncharted. MGS4 is a fantastic looking game from start to finish, Uncharted is not. After finishing it, I noticed alot of screen tears, textures not loading (particularly on the jetski), plain bad textures (not to spoil anything but in the indoors areas torwards the end and animations "failing" (i.e I jump to another platform, drake dangles in mid air flailing his arms about like he's falling when he's not and then the game realises theres an error and I die, happened 4 times on the one playthrough in different chapters).

If you consider Uncharted a great looking game then Mass Effect is a great looking game as well. Me on the otherhand, if it can't keep it up for most of the game, then it doesn't have "good graphics". That's why Gears 1 and MGS4 are still at the top of my list for graphically beautfiul games.

GOW2...yeah, that's really looking dated...what a buffon!

that yahoo guy is the only one who said sony E3 is the best ?! .. even sonyfans dont like sony show in this E3 ..... they should never put a fan for reviews.

Unified memory is a HUGE advantage and you know it. Lots of devs have said its hard work working with the 256mb on the PS3 - LOADS.

Yes because they STARTED WORKING ON THE 360 and so had problems when they switched to the PS3 which is indeed less flexible (but not worse) in this regard. You may notice that the whining has gotten a lot more subdued now that devs know both systems.

I try not to dislike any of the three consoles. I really do. But this is the type of stuff that just completely turns me off to Sony. I could talk about their outdated controls that were made for people with midget hands looking long in the tooth but I won't go there. Oh crap!!! I just did.

I just popped Uncharted back because of the trophy patch, and Im still amazed at it. It one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I didn't run into that bug you mentioned, and old some textures poping in I don't see where you are coming from. (bolded what I disagree with)

As far as screen tearing, my eyes really can't see that in games unless it is a really bad screen tear. But I do not notice screen tearing as most do. (mass effect, uncharted, bioshock, etc.)

QFT. I played through it and it is one of the smoothest and perhaps the most beautiful game I have ever seen. (Especially after playing Assassin's Creed on the PS3 which was much more choppy (but also gorgeous))

I also was never even slightly annoyed by screen tearing (I noticed it once in a scene but it was almost not noticeable) So I would rate the above post as FUD.
