Forums - Sales - Will RE4:Wii Edition meet sales expectations?

Good time to update the sales figures?

...

RE4: Wii Edition

  • Expected: 420,000
  • Japan's Total so Far: 112k (12 Weeks) 2,801 last week
  • U.S. Total so Far: 304k (9 Weeks) 21,700 last week
  • Other Territories: ??? (175k estimate?)

So total so far is: 591k (with 'Other' estimate)

(note -  4 weeks ago, RE4 sold 20k/week - in the US. Now 4 weeks later, sales have remained at the same level - 22k/week)

Probably close to 750k shipped (WW), and should easily reach 1m shipped by the end of the year (if not sold).

I expect a big drop off in RE 4 this week in the US. I imagine the people who wanted it bought it at release or first week.

As to those expectations. They might meet them but it will be close, it won't be higher than expected. I am doubtful though...

Just had to bump this wonderful prediction.

are we looking at the possibility that RE4 wii could outsell the GC version? With Holiday sales it might.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

people should begin to realize the majority of the Wii install base are still PS2 gamers. only a small percentage (certainly

the Wii is an epidemic.

Lingyis, at first i bought it because of the price like you, and i thought it wasn't the kind of game that i liked, but i was wrong, you should play more because it's amazing, now i love resident evil franquise(i had never played it before RE4:WE)

I imagine holiday sales will push it will past 1m sold. Like you said, it's still doing 90K per month in the US alone, and I don't expect its sales for the rest of the year to dip below that average.

or you could throw a grenade at the door and kick it, saves alot of ammo.

RE4 is the only RE game I have ever played.  Stick with it, you will not regret it.  The game grows more intense and enjoyalbe all the way through it.

Also there are some really fun unlockables.  If you play through it twice you will unlock Special Outfit 2.  This custume gives Ashley a suit of armor which makes her impossible to harm by enemies (so far as I have descoverd).  You can even tell her to "wait" and leave her for bait to slow down enemies.  The armor makes her heavy enough that no one can carry her away.  Loads of fun.  Zombies drop to the ground after trying to pick her up leaving them vulnerable to knife attacks.

If you beat the game on difficult you get this light based unlimited ammo weapon that kills almost anything with one shoot (even most boses).  This feels like such sweet revenge after agonizing through the game on difficult.

Loads of fun.

Just had to say how much I'm enjoying this game.

while I don't know if it will meet sales expectations, it certainly seems, with over 10 million Wiis sold internationally, they're not aiming too terribly high. I'd like to think it wouldn't have any trouble breaking a million...
