Forums - Sales - Will RE4:Wii Edition meet sales expectations?

with most foes i aim at the head, with the ganados usually at the feet then run over and knife them. with the gold helmet monks its chest-leg-kick-knife
monks with shields piss me off, if there is more than 1 i use an incendiary, just 1 then shotgun. for the big brutes with massive claws [first met in prison] i either shoot the bells then rifle the back, or get out most powerful weapon and hope it stops him before he gets to me [one of the hardest bits of the game to me is when you are in a cage with one.

sales targets will be met easily and probably surpassed by 100-150k at least.

as for UC, personally im not keen on on-rail shooters, but i am considering this myself.
i would have thought the fact that its a new RE game would let it sell 400-500k on those two points alone, if it happens to be half-decent it should get at least their estimate, and if its great then it could be a million seller [maybe only just though]

Yes.

It's 75% there now and still selling 20k+ per week just in the US and Japan combined. The Euro numbers aren't even tabulated in yet.

Lets not forget that the target was a "shipment" target. Capcom doesn't really care what it sells (although more is obviously better) - they just wanted to ship a min of 420k units to break even, and reach their financial goals on the project.

There will be somewhere between 100k-200k units sitting on store shelves around the world ATM. And I think this will be a strong seller over Xmas. Its still one of the best games available for the Wii, a strong brand/franchise - and the only game in its genre available at the moment (on the Wii) - I don't think "Escape from Bug Island" counts ;)

Good points. And as we've noted before the Euro/PAL numbers could put it well above expectations. You are correct about the holidays as well.

This bodes well for UC and continuing support from Capcom.

Do you hear me Capcom? We want Dead Phoenix now. Motion control is perfect for it. Make it happen.

for some reason, when i order on amazon, they don't charge me taxes. and as you know shipping is free. so $29.99 would be all that i pay if i want that game.

it's weird with amazon, i remember that at some point in the past, they charged me taxes. at some point in the past, they stopped charging me taxes. and then taxes again. now though, no taxes. must be somewhere in my account info... but i live in cali, so i think by law when they ship something to me i need to pay taxes.

so i don't know what the deal is.

Are you sure those were purchases from Amazon and not partners like Target or the many or any of the marketplace companies?

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

actually when you're in the cage with the blind brute with claws was perhaps the easiest one that I found.

I just put half a clip of TMP ammo in the lock on the door and kicked it open, then ran around outside and killed all the monks. The blind dude couldn't find his way out of the cage so I just leasurely put three rifle shots in his back.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

or you could throw a grenade at the door and kick it, saves alot of ammo.

Don't forget a christmass Zerg rush for the game. Glad to see it outdid Capcom's expectations.

Things that have changed since the last Generation of Gaming:

- Nintendo has shown us you can have the best selling console of all time with virtually no games for it.

- Graphics suddenly matter to Sony fans but Reverse Compatibility and Dual shock oddly enough don’t.

- Kiddy Crap is trendy with Hardcore gamers now that it’s no longer Nintendo’s “thing” (Viva Piñata, Little Big Planet, Banjo Kazooie 3, LBP)

- Third Party Developers are now essentially the equivalent of Video Game street pimps.

- Gimmicks are no longer fads (Wii-mote)... Well, not all Gimmicks (PS-Eye)
