Gears 2 looks gr8 in any way and the KZ2's framerate is horrible,look at the walls!!! Looks like someone just painted them there,the realastic in KZ2 is the Characters,wep's and the sky.

You guys are idiots if you think Gears 2 looks better. Gears 2 employs heavy bloom over their textures to give an illusion that looks pasty and waxy.

Killzone 2 does differed rendering, lens flare, ambient occlusion, and on and on and on and on. Gears 2 doesn't hold a candle to Killzone 2 technically. If your arguing "ART"- than Killzone 2's story line- the Helgast live on a planet that is destroyed by radiation, hence the environment.

There are too many fanboys here.

If you guys really want to argue Gears, put Gears against Uncharted, Uncharted wins every time.

gears of war 2 wins very easly, kz2 looks good but for me its still not in gears of war2 league.

What I have gotten from the two games is basically ....

Gears of War 2 emphasizes the textures on top of not so sophisticated models. The model work is not that good in this game but the textures definitely bring the scenes to life.

Killzone 2 has put more time in the models instead of just slapping textures on it. The model poly count of the characters I would geuss to be about twice as big as those of gears from an educated geuss. Killzone 2 also has depth perception so things farther away gets blurry, yet that might just be because it is in third person that GeOW2 does not.

Great Models, Good textures.

My Opinion: Killzone 2 looks better to me because they spent time on developing the tiny intricate details instead of just slapping on a texture to cover it up (like the medal plated grounds). The colors (or lack there of) seems to be more .....vibrant then GeOW2. Just my opinion tho....

Seriously now, I'd say Killzone 2 has the better particle effects/Smoke and lighting, but Gears has better character models and enviroment textures.

For example, looking at the pictures in one of the above posts, you can see that the texture of the cover in KZ2 is less detailed while Gears 2 has more detailed walls/cover. Same thing looking at KZ2's effects, the smoke and bullets look much better than those in Gears 2.

I agree wholeheartedly. Anybody would have to be an idiot to have an opinion which differs from yours.
