Forums - Nintendo - Dead Rising (Wii) New Character Images

Anyone who thinks those are full motion videos need to have their head examined. They weren't FMVs on the 360 and they aren't on the Wii. Jesus, they're not even that good of quality! What the hell would make you think they're pre-rendered? What artist in their right mind would spend all that time and money doing a pre-rendered cutscene, but then make the backgrounds in the scenes look exactly as they would in-game?

So the more appropriate response would be that those shots are from cutscenes, and yes, the quality decreases during actual gameplay. Still, the fact that they are identical to the 360 version should be heartening to those hoping the graphics stand up to the 360 version.

hahaha, lol, this thread is so funny.

1. those pics look great, and they are definitely sharper and more detailed than RE4.
2. those pics are from Wii hardware and whatever engine Capcom is using on Wii.
3. those pics are definitely cutscene and not actual gameplay.

#3 doesn't mean Wii's version will suck or look like cruisin'. Wii has a dvd player and quality video card. It can put out high quality cutscenes. The gameplay will probably look really good as well. As good as the 360? Probably not, but as good as the best Wii games so far, sure.

I, for one, am looking forward to this game.

RE4 engine(not optimized for Wii).

Think Resident Evil 4 ps2 edit, they are using the cutscenes from the xbox360, Frank will have the default appearence in cutscenes, those are not ingame,

Proof? No I didn't think you had any. There is no way of knowing currently whether or not those scenes are being done in-game or through FMV right now. Those scenes were in-game during the 360 version though which makes me think it will be in-game once again.

Isn't frank no longer a Photographer?

Cause you can see the strap of his camera in the fifth pic.

Or did capcom just take the camera out of it, if so, why is it in the fifth pic?

I don't need written proof just inferred proof, the wii isn't a 360 or ps3, it never will be. Look at the other clearly in game screenshots, the zombies don't even cast real time shadows yet

yes they weren't on the 360 but neither were RE4's on the GC, but on the ps2 they were. They are movies of the in-game xbox 360 cutscenes recorded for use on the wii

Look at an xbox 360 in game cutscene screen

compare it to the above screens, they have the same level of detail and lighting and so forth,

and looking at the action

take a wii in game screen

sure decent detail and enemy count but the lighting isn't anywhere near the 360 and it is no where near the cutscene detail,

frankly I'd be willing to bet that those character screens are Pre-Recorded FMV

The Wii is not a 360 or PS3, but that doesn't look much better than what Resident Evil 4 which the Wii did in real time. The in-game shots are fairly early on still and from a point where you need a lot more going on. Sacrificing detail in zombies but not other humans would make a lot of sense to me. Barring any form of real evidence though we are both essentially just guessing at what is likely.

Edited:

After looking more, yeah; I think it's FMV too.  Changed my mind.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I'm sticking with CGI, Wii games even with FMVs have jaggies and those images had none, the only way to pull that off with only 10mb edram is if it's CGI.

If they found some way to stream the bandwidth with the edram to the cpu then maybe they are buffering more information while images are bein rendered. Even then those images still have a clarity and detail and no jaggies over it's Xbox360 counter part.

By the way am I the only one not excited about this game?

Also I picked up using Tira in Soul Calibur 4.. I need some help though and theres no FAQ's on it, I wanted to lead her rising B into something other thank b+k x2 the issue is on the counter hit it registers only b on rising after the ->, a, b. It's still a 60% gauge combo but it could be more anyone got any tips outside of just figuring out how to get b+k off on rising?

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
