Forums - Sales - Anyone else noticing a lot of Wiis easily available in stores?

What itrackr at?

Stopped by the local Meijer tonight to pick up tomatoes and Harry Potter OoP, no Wiis in stock -- but the one PS3 they've had in the case every time I've looked lately was GONE! Sold, I'm sure, and the space was temporarily filled with a couple of wireless Guitar Hero controllers. 360 had a couple of machines on hand, no Elites though.

I hae seen one or two in Mexico sporadically (Monterrey city) also in the flea markets (tianguis, pulgas) you can find some of them.
Price is like 380 dollars for a Wii here, so they might not be flying off shelves on day oe but at a constat pace... (360 is 450 dollars for the elite with two games included)

where are you from fazz?

Monterrey too... but I don't usually hang out at pulgas :)

None here in the Dover/Portsmouth NH area.

Never argue with an idiot.  They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

In Australia all consoles are easy to pick up I have noticed.
maybe we get over supplied.

Agreed.

Last I looked (more than a month ago?), all stores had plenty of Wiis - although that was just after a "huge" shipment, and the end of holidays/start of winter (i.e. traditional no-buy period for consoles).

PS2 still dominating here, thanks to very low price point (only "affordable" console), lots of very cheap games, huge clearances everywhere (3 PS2 games for $50 AU, or $30 US) and lots of Sony advertising (esp. Singstar).

The weekly sales figures for Australia seem pretty reasonable to me (although its interesting that PS2 is not tracked - sure it would be well out ahead).

I was just at a Walmart yesterday in Salem, Oregon, and I saw 2 Wii's in the glass case and the person in front of me in line was buying one.

So basically I saw three.

In Syracuse, NY, other then if i go on Sunday I'm yet to see a Wii in store (other then the day i bought mine).

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I'm in Quebec... Not a single Wii yet! Each time I've been at the mall they were always out of stock. I've mainly checked the local Wal-Mart, Zellers, EBGames, The Source...
