I believe Gears 2 may not outsell Gears 1 total of 5.2 million sales. I predict Gears 2 will finish at around 4 million LTD. 1.5 million LTD for first week of Gears 2. Market has been over saturated with generic shooters on X360 that are substitutes to Gears 2.

Having seen E3 show. Resistance 2 looked far superior than Gears 2. Gears 2 looked like Gears 1.5. Resistance 2 was a massive improvement upon RFOM and it looked superior than Gears 2.

Resistance 2 should have a huge boost on PS3 hardware consoles and it will eventually sell more copies than Gears of War 2. PS3 games have longer legs than X360 games. GTA IV on PS3 is starting to outsell GTA IV on X360 and over time GTA IV on PS3 will over take the X360 version of GTA IV.

Initially Gears 2 will outsell Resistance 2 for the first month or two but by end of 2009 Resistance 2 sales would of over taken Gears 2 sales. PS3 would also be in front of X360 in worldwide console sales.

Anyway if my predictions come true it would be great news for Sony and PS3.

Gears of War 2 will outsell Resistance 2 hands down.

G2 will outsell R2 unless it gets bundled with the PS3 for christmas.

Gears 2 will outsell Gears 1..the game was very popular, all that's going to do is pique the interest of those who either played Gears 1 late or not at all, and saw how popular it was. Had it been hyped up and been a bust, well then no..

Resistance 2 will outsell Resistance 1 for the same reason.

Gears 2 will outsell Resistance 2 if for no other reason than simply number of consoles in circulation.

To me, those 2 games are hard to compare. I'm sure fans of Resistance are just as big of fans of the game as fans of Gears were with that game, theres just more fans of Gears because the game is available to 5.5 million more people. If PS3 had 20 million consoles out right now, I'd probably honestly say it would be dead even, give or take a few hundred thousand.

Gears 2 will destroy Resistance 2's sales even though Resistance 2's sales should be decent.
