oooooh! Come on ben. There were other games to play at launch. Ridge Racer 7 and Marvel: UA both are not bad games.

 

OT: it most definetely will pass R1. It might take a Greatest Hits because R1 should get a big pick up in sales with the cheaper edition.

No, I pretty much agree with Ben as a current PS3 owner.  There's a reason I waited till now to buy it lol.

OT: I as well think it will probably pass Resistance.  4-4.5m lifetime.  I only hope it does better than Killzone 2.  I really don't think KZ2 deserves the hype it gets.  Resistance 2 should be the one getting all that attention.

almost certainly, they appear to have made a far better game and by the time it comes out they'll hopefully have near 20 million potential buyers

Resistance was a PS3 launch title in November 2006.

Halo 3 came out in September 2007...

And I'm talking about the PS3 library, not its competition.  For PS3 owners at launch...there weren't many good games to play...some sports games, Oblivion, Rainbow Six Vegas...unless you really wanted to play Genji or Call of Duty 3...

Resistance was one of a few PS3 exclusives, and it was pretty much the only option for the first holiday season...

My how we forget what people were saying in late 2006.

Well Fall of Man's numbers aren't all that high, I don't think it will have any problems overtaking it, especially with the buzz it already has going in gaming circles.

Reistance 2 looks quite generic in it's gameplay (besides for that huge boss!!!OMG LOL), but it should pass Resistance 1 by a little. I don't think it will be by too much. It would really test the frugal Sony installed base, who haven't really responded in a huge way to Sony's major games.

So you were saying resistance is basically sony's Halo and it had similar circumstances?

 If I was anti-Sony I wouldn't be buying a PS3 out of ignorance. I am buying a PS3. Whats wrong with thinking that Resistance 2 is a generic shooter? The only thing interesting about it to me is the 300 ft monster. I believe after playing shooters since wolfenstein, doom, nuken days as a child loyally until now, i've reserved the right to speak about it.
