Forums - Gaming - I Need a New Router???

my linksys router hates my PS3 (or vise-versa?), never had any problems other than that though. I wouldn't recommend buying a very expensive router because you'll never use it's capabilities unless you plan on surfing the net from 4 blocks away. Just get something that meets your needs.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

maybe you should re-buy the same router you had before ?

it's another option.....

The old one I had, It wasn't really good.

The Linksys WRT54GL is probably the best router you can get in that price range.

What gives this router its immense value is that you can load it up with third party firmware that is far superior to anything you'll find on the commercial market in the same price range.

Even for someone that doesn't care about advanced features it's a good deal because all the first party manufacturers stop updating the firmware for older models. Check out wikipedia for more info.

happen to have just received my new router in the mail today--

the Linksys WRT54G2 .

great value, but very importantly, nice sleek design. a few hours in, working perfectly with the wii, dell and macbook.

the Wii is an epidemic.

The linksys wrt54g is what I have and it works great. I had my PS3 wirelesslly hooked up to it for a few weeks and i constantly had connection issues so I decided to wire it for a few days. After that i went back to wireless and i haventt had a problem since. Anybody know why that could be?

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

grab a wrt54g(45$ @ newegg) and load it with a 3rd party firmware like other people said.

I will consider all options at this point.
