Forums - Sales - Japan Sales Up

360 should die down to the 3k range once Tales of Vesperia is done with (launch week plus couple weeks afterwords). And to be fair to the PS3, MGS4 launched one and a half months ago (by VGC standards). The fact that it remains over 10k is still impressive given the market in Japan.

PSP sales are impressive, DS is staying strong, and the Wii being steady as usual. Many of the best selling consoles in Japan have had steady sales even when the other consoles were seeing erratic boosts or drops.

Has PS3 expectations gone down that far?

Over 10K is not impressive at all.

Over 5k for Microsoft is not impressive either but more impressive than what PS3 is doing in Japan.

Montana what does Tales of Vesperia have to do with anything. The game isn't even out yet. 360 sales have been on the uptick for quite some time. They are still pitiful in the overall view but better than before. As for 10k for the PS3 being impressive, how so? The 360, a console expected to bomb in Japan, is doing half that amount and the PS3 is the successor to the consoles that dominated the prior two generations in Japan. As bad as the 360 is doing it is doing better than its predecessor, there is no quantifiable measure in which the PS3 sales in Japan are impressive.

PS3 @ 299, ( Yen Eqivalent ) plus release of FF and PS3 sales in Japan will rocket

Because it releases next week and some people probably want to buy it now, rather then during the rush when the game releases?

As for his PS3 comment, he says "given the market in Japan", which therefore causes his prior statement to make sense.

@ Montana, you read this different to most people here. The 360 was below 2000 per week for 10 weeks up to 8 weeks ago.... for the last 8 weeks it has been north of 2000 and for the last 5 weeks averaged over 4000. give credit where is is due.

360 has definite momentum now in japan, if they can maintain around the 4k -5k mark it will be a major achievement in that territory. PS3 has problems in its home market.

xbox sold 478k in Japan
360 is at 640k already...

it's not like he is bashing the 360, he merely believes it will drop back to 3k once the ToV surge dies down.

IF it can remain at 5k, it will be a major achievement.

Howver, I disagree with him in the sense that Infinite Undisovery will be released a few weeks after, so the sales should sustain for a bit longer

Orly? Don't forget Infinite Undiscovery comes out after tales. Soon after last Remnant comes out too. I think its gonna continue longer then just Tales of Vesperia.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

360 is gaining some good momentum. It might beat the PS3 for the second time in its lifetime.

BUT, SC4 should give a small boost. It'll be interesting.

360's comeback continues 2nd place this gen is a real possibility.........

360 is doing good ,, i'm depressed -.-

360 is rising, PS3 is back to normal. 360 pulls a considerable 27000 WW victory this week. Delaying the inevitable?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
