If you could read what it actually says after your link, its says it won't be in stock til August 6th.  I usually don't buy into the low supply argument on the HD consoles, but it does actually appear that they are clearing out the 40 GB stock, which should be a pretty obvious observation since they said they were going to do that.

The 40gb is discontinued. No stores around me carry it at all. Sony is just prepping the 80gb version that is all.
