I have V. It was okay but not as EPIC as II. The problem is that the 108 stars are usually just for show. There are always only about 12 characters that are actually useful out of 108 and they are usually so much better than the rest |
the point of the other stars is not to be in every battle you fight, but rather to add color to the game. every game has the 6-12 characters that you play with and grow through with, but not every game gives you 108 named people to interact with different personalities. an RPG isn't just about the battles and stuff. its about the experience of being in that world. with 108 people, you get a more realistic feel where i'd think you'd have more than 6-12 named companions.

That's true, there are stars that are overpowered and are indeed more useful than others, like Georg Prime in V. Fortunately, Suikodens aren't very difficult, so you can win the game playing with anyone, I usually use the stars that I like, not the stars that are the most powerful (for example, I never used Killey, even though I know it's one of the strongest characters)
