Recently there seem to be more and more special edition, and Microsoft is making special editions for both Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 (I will probably be getting both), though Sony is not doing the same stuff.

Do you care about stuff like making of DVDs, concept art or even figurines. I generally like those things, though quite a lot of the time, they charge too much of a premium for them. But when they are only an extra £5 they are totally worth it

I really hope that Sony do join in the party, with a special edition of LittleBigPlanet with a sackboy in included being a great idea

Sony had about 50 different types of special editions for their last big exclusive.

I'll definitely get the Fable 2 special edition (see avatar) and probably also the Gears 2 one cause I got the special edition for Gears 1.

Special edition are not worth the extra money. I only care about playing the game. The GTA IV Special Edition was a rip off.

I believe that special editions in themselves are a good idea, but the execution for most of them are horrible. Like, how they promise lots of cool exclusive stuff for it... Then release it only in America. That's a massive kick in the balls, and should not occur ever. If you're going to make a special edition, you should make sure everyone has the ability to get it. Otherwise you're better off not making one at all, in my opinion.

Gears of War 2 SE is already preordered.
A SE of FFXIII would be the cherry on the cake for me.

i also had the special edition of gears 1, but i didnt think it was worth the extra money, i watched the making once and never again, plus the plastic sleeve has a tendedcy to tear on edges, and the tin box was dire.

id prefer a special edition to be in a simpler tin box, with many many more extras on seprate disks

and lol at the jericho and turok special editions lo, WOW tin case and a few postcards - really worth it

The only special edition I ever thought was worth it was my Castlvania SotN with extra CD and Artbook but this is only cos it was the same price as the standard version. I just like the games unless there offering extra games like what Windwaker did on the cube and Strider 2 gave Strider 1 on PS1 then Im not interested.

I only buy SE for my anime games since they usually give you quite a lot of free stuff like figures and bonus drama CDs.
