Forums - Nintendo - Red Steel 2 will use Wi Motionplus

Ummm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I really dont see how the function of the Motion Plus can help the IR functionality problems Red Steele had. Didn't MP3:C and Heroes 2 already fix all of Red Steel's failing without the motion plus?

Then again, this is the company behind Haze. So it might get a lot of hype and end up being terrible.

Haze was developed by Free Radical.

Still says Ubisoft on the cover therefore I blame them.

Ubi is probably responsible for rushing it out.

I doubt it. I almost can garauntee that Nintendo was pressuring them to get it out as a launch game. They needed that "cool" FPS for launch so that they could compete in that category.

Just kiss the tip.

Thanks for the responses.

I've read your guys post and want to ask another question.

How many titles do you think next year will use the wii motionplus technology?

My guess is about 6.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

The Motion Plus can greatly enhance Red Steel's swordplay, which was one if it's bigger dissapointments... everyone thought it was going to have true 1:1 swordplay and that they were gonna be able to dual wield a sword and gun... maybe they can do that with RS2, that would be badass!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

There will prolly be plenty that do make use of it... the new Wii Sports is coming out in spring and there's already been a few other games announced that will use it.

As for titles that are actually GOOD at implementing it, that's another story lol... I can't see more then 5 or 6 that really make good innovative use of the peripheral and not just for some gimmicky minigame-fest that most developers use Wii motion controls for.

Easily twice that of the Wii Balance Board.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I have to ask are the future prospects for games on the Wii this shallow? Are there no other games to get excited about? Red Steel on its very best day might be called slightly below average. There are only two things that saved that game from falling off the radar and into the abyss. A decent soundtrack ashamed of itself for being in Red Steel, and the simplistic gameplay which all, but ensures that you will progress through the poorly designed levels.

I bought Red Steel, and I played the game for over six hours. To put it bluntly I gave this game more of a chance than it deserved. I never enjoyed myself remotely during the entire time. Then I realized why this was. It wasn't the bad controls, gameplay mechanics, storyline, graphics, and artificial intelligence. I recognized the game for what it truly was a first person shooter from over ten years ago with absolutely no polish. In other words I was swimming through crap only to find that the destination was a huge pile of crap.

There really wasn't much to actually redeem this game. Like I said a soundtrack, and the fact that you could make the controls work. Hard though it may sound some games cannot even bother to have working control schemes. Even more reprehensible is the fact that this game seemed to be designed to physically harm the player. Swinging your hands past one another at high speed. Almost an invitation to knuckle smacking fun. especially since the Wii when using the sensor bar is only tolerant of playing within a certain box. Which means your hands are already dangerously close when your going to fight the controls to pull off a special sword move.

I am just plain saddened to see anyone getting excited about this game, because the first game just wasn't any good. The real tragedy is better games will not get a sequel.

Oh, Dodece. I can always trust you to use ten words when five would do.

Answer: No.

Interesting news. If they tighten up the controls enough, both for shooting and for swordplay, I'll probably get this. The single-player will probably suck, but the multiplayer should make up for that. Just like every other FPS out there.

Good, I liked Reel Steel.. this will make it better
