Forums - Nintendo - I FINALLY beat Twilight Princess. My thoughs......who cares?? :P

To start off I skipped the entire past generation of video games. Last time I played games for real was when the 64 was out. So I compare TP to Ocarina of Time since it was the last zelda I played on console.
Almsot beat Majoras mask at friends gamecube but he broke it =\

So having said that TP was my first Zelda game on a disc.

The load time for houses suprised me in the beginning. At first I was like wtf. Then realized oh right its a disc game. Later however I didnt even notice.
The controls for the first 2 hours or so were frustrating as hell and the waggle combat was a huge let down for me.

I went into this game thinking it was gonna be the best game Ive ever played and left feeling let down.

I will defend this game though because the main reason its not the best game it couldve been is because it is in fact a Gamecube port. It didnt tap into all the power to the Wii or Motion Control. Fishing I did only once in the beginning because it frustrated me and I didnt spend as much time trying to do all the little things like I did on OoT.

The story was definitly the best imo. It had a more cinematic presentaion then any before it and it was dark themed.

The Final battle was stretched out through 4 boss battles and I thought that a great idea and made it feel more epic.
Midna was cooler and dare my wierd ass say hotter when she stayed a little imp or whatever the hell she was.

Anyways I liked it and had fun with it but the NEXT true ground up for Wii Zelda will be the best Zelda yet I hope.
Graphics will be better and true 1:1 with MotionPlus will be awesome. Just dont expect a dark theme because this last one was already dark themed.

Edit - Holy shit fixed alot of spelling errors.=\

i wish i can play it.

Well, that's pretty much what I thought, but with a more positive attitude towards fishing

I thought it was good, the waggle didn't bother me as much as it bother you. I hated fishing and liked Midna at the end and through out the game.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I loved the fishing, and my wife got addicted to it (played it for days, until my save game got lost :P). Its still easily the best fishing I have played on the Wii.

I have almost finished Okami, and will post some Zelda v Okami impressions when I'm done.

I really liked Twilight - and thought it got a lot better towards the end - but in hindsight, I think its my *least* favourite Zelda title.

(Okami is better than Twilight in just about every aspect BTW, and is a must play for anyone with a Wii that likes Zelda).

I Liked TP, the puzzles were great, and I like how the map of this game is really detailed and how every dungeon has a dark grim feel.

So having said that TP was my first Zelda game on a disc.

are you getting wind waker soon?

Link is not a dog - fail

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Def. not. I just prefer my characters to not cheat the narrative expectations too much. Link should be link i think, not a magical dog. This is why i understand people's dislike of Mario Sunshine, you don't want to change things, specifically the method the character uses to accomplish a task. The game was too easy, but awesome bosses and those magnet boots rocked.

I love the game a lot and don't understand the average view that the game is not that good.

It's epic, loads of good dungeons, more cinematic presentation, wolf transition is very cool, lots of sidequests.

My thoughts on why it is seen a bit negative: It does miss the lightheardedness of OoT and WW. For example th non-playable-characters had much more humor in those games. In TP everything was a bit dramatic. There wasn't a lot of room for quirky characterters and events (like the Mask trading in OoT or the stuff you could do on Windfall Island in WW). That's indeed a bit of a letdown, but TP surely is one hell of a game.
