But looking at the graphics power of the Wii it is last generation. Take for instance the multi-platform games for this generation. Most appear only on the PS3/360 and if it does come to the Wii its is based off the PS2 version. Would you say the developers are showing disrespect too?

Now I would not call Wii last generation because the motion controls are revolutionary but in regard to the power of the system it is in the past.

Yes. It is disrespectful on the developers part basing a Wii version off of the PS2 version. Fortunately now this is coming to an end because they have to take the Wii seriously now. I understand that graphically the Wii is not as powerful as the PS3 or the 360 but it has the ability to blow the PS2 or the XBox out of the water in that respect so no the graphics are not last generation and if you want to talk about the controls Nintendo has once again innovated a controller that will be copied.

^I agree with you that the Wii is more powerful than anything last gen but not by much. As far as Multi-platform games go I don't think you will see many games that appear on all three platforms that use that same graphics engine. Most likely you will see a 360/PS3 version and a separate Wii version. As the PS2 becomes less and less popular, the devs will write the game for the Wii instead of porting it from the PS2 to the Wii.

This will be good for the Wii as a separate version of the game can allow for the developers to concentrate more time into the motion controls instead of just tacking them on.

But OT, I don't think GI is disrespecting the Wii. Most of their game scores are right in line with the critic average. Its a fact, the Wii has a lot of crap games and these games have been reviewed justly. But the Wii also has quite a few gems that GI has rated high along with the rest of the gaming critics.

I love you and all, but I have yet to see a game made for the Wii that couldnt have been done as well on a PS2 or XBOX. Let alone blow them out of the water. When I see a game on the Wii with better graphics than God of War II or Halo 2 then I will say you are right, but so far in most regards both mentioned titles look in the least as good as the best Wii titles, if not better.

I don't think GI is bad at all. I personally tend to agree with their scores more than any other magazine out there... even if it is the only magazine I read, thanks to my Gamestop card membership.

You guys obviously have never played Metroid Prime 3. That game smacks God of War around like a bad stepchild graphically. Oh, and I love you too.

That is all preference though, I played GOW and GOW2, loved each of them. I purchased MP3 on release day and after 2 hours or so I became bored with it and have not touched it since. I also think GOW2 looks prettier. :)

As for people saying GI absolutely hates Wii, they gave RockBand an 8.5!!! Ridiculously high score considering it has many of its best features (Online play) removed, no DLC and the annoying fact that the USB ports are in back of the Wii, making hooking it up and disconnecting it a pain.

1 less point than it's 360/PS3 counterpart with dumbed down visuals, less options, later release, etc...
