I think that the main reason is that customers buy a xbox360 because a certain gamestop employee is annoying them with his PS3 sales pitch...

While that is a feasable reason to not buy something I have yet to find a customer to use it affectively. Most dont buy the shovel ware(u kno, majority of the games on the wii) and stick to the good stuff. Many times 360 gamers use MultiPlat Stuff to justify their purchase(they dont even USE the good stuff 360 has like,MassEffect,LO,Halo,etc). When I tell them that the game they used is also on PS3 they never have a comeback for it. And many times if it is a 360 exclusive their is something just as good on PS3...

The unfortunate thing about the World in general is that no matter how hard we may try on these 'internets' it'll be impossible to cure all the ignorance out there.
Can you imagine if everyone knew all the specifics and pros/cons of each console aside from all the PR/marketing crap? I think we'd probably have a lot less to talk about on these forums that's for sure :D

You just made a baseless assumption that Sony cant do it, EVEN THOUGH they are pretty close to have already done it with PS2. And last round they werent even that much prepared.
They have not proved that it is not. The HDDVD attachment is all but worthless(feel bad for those who actually baught it). Their medium is being maxed to it's limits already(See Lost Odyssey).
And Even if u dont believe that the cell puts the PS3 WAY above the 360's future potential(It is used in the strongest SUPER COMPUTER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD) even after countless developers have proven this(Uncharted is the best lookin game by far with using barely 3 cells,MGS4, enough said) u must admit that the BluRay Format opens up a can of worms in future game development. BluRay has so much storage space your standard games that clock in 40hrs of play can become games that 300hrs of play. There are two reasons for the BluRay being such a big thing. Firstly the less u compress the sharper the image. So no matter how much u say "Oh that could just be compressed on 360" that just means that if they compressed it on PS3 that they could fit EVEN MORE in the game. Developers may not see it now but they will in due time, once they stop lookin at the bulge in MS's pockets. Just Imagine how huge and exspansive GTA could of been if they stayed exclusive to PS3. The possiblilities.....
And I should stop posting on a topic I CREATED because? All I am doing is further elaborating on my point for those who do not fully comprehend, ala you. Not in it to offend anyone,and i have refrained from attacking anyone in a post so far...

I will not buy a PS3 because the only exclusive game I would like to play in it is God of War 3.
Since my friend has a PS3, I could just visit him and play this one game, when released.
I never buy a videogame because of one game.

Uhhh, yeah, both Xbox and GameCube lost support immediately when the next gen system came out, not sure why you assume I had no idea of that. And PS2 is doing what no other console has and still is going pretty strong.
So I guess a more detailed answer to your question:
"I mean, ask youself honestly, who do you think is gonna still be here in like 5 years, the PS3 or 360?"
Would be: My 360 will still be on my entertainment center, and I'll have plenty of games I love on it. I'll still be able to play those, as well as use Xbox Live with them. Will anything new come out on it from that point on. Maybe Not. Will there be support for the PS3, probably so. Will I care? Not a damn bit. I'll be looking at the next gen systems. And oh, wait, if Sony doesn't have another one out, and is still hanging onto the PS3, then I won't even be looking at thiers, there won't be one. So my business will go to Xbox 720 and Wii 2.
Edit: Besides the fact that you make a whole lot of assumptions and believe them to be fact. You are saying the PS3 will be around for 10 years and the 360 for 4 or 5 years as fact. Thats pretty bias. It may end up as true, but no one can say its fact. And if you are saying the PS3 will last and Xbox 360 will not, because PS3 is more powerful? Then you sir show how the average Game Stop employee doesn't necessary know what he's talking about yet again.... Because if you you are using that as the support for your belief, then explain the PS2 still being supported? That doesn't follow your reasoning.
