The only PS3 game I can think of offhand coming close to the first week Halo 3 WW sales is Gran Turismo 5 if its released in a year or so (when the PS3 user base is higher). That is mainly because A) even the demo has sold a ton (and thats not including downloaded copies) and B) it has an actual worldwide following so it will get sales in Japan Halo never did plus a bunch more sales in Europe then Halo 3 did.

I don't get the Halo 3 hype really, I mean Halo 1 was great for its time but by the time 3 has rolled around its just kind of a middling (ok maybe above average) shooter. I was so bored with the single player by the halfway point I went back to playing other things and returned the rental early. It was pretty good online but I can think of 5 FPS games I'd rather play online then Halo (COD4, Team Fortress 2, UT3, Warhawk, Gears of War PC). It was certainly quite far from the second (or I guess in this case the third) coming.

Most hyped game series in game history vs some nearly unknown game. Chances are same as you go and try beat some bouncer when you drank enough alcohol to see pink elephants.

I love Resistance and I am going to love Resistance 2 even more, I do not like Halo much.

Yet I know that there is no way Resistance 2 will come close to Halo sales, sadly =/
