Is Fragile even an RPG? It looks like an exploration game to me, but I really never looked into it so I don't know better.

The developers say its and rpg.
I just tried the jp version Tales of Symphonia, I'll rate it 5.5 out of 10 at best.
graphic - 5/10: seriously namco need to put more effort on the Wii, level design and characters severely lack of textures, this game looks worst than some of the first generation ps2 game( at least it looks that way on my 50" Plasma TV).
Game control - 4/10: if you going to put action element during battle that require quick change on character's action then its better off you make the control work like a classic control with the wii remote only, instead implement the use of both nun chuck and Wii remote. Pressing that (-), (+), 1 , and 2 button is painfully frustrating when the action require a quick response.
Story - 3/10 this is based up to chapter two, The main character is a loser! The story is the typical evil empire slaughtering innocent civilian and a mysterious girl
flee from the army with a crystal on hand blah blah, then came the main boy character to save the day. one word sum it up - Boring!!
Upcoming RPG´s for Wii:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
Monster Hunter 3
Monster Lab
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
Rune Factory: Frontier
Arc Rise Fantasia
Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3: The Sleeping Princess in Karakuri Mansion
Oboro Muramasa Youtoden
Little King's Story

@Soriku
I dont intend to shoot your hope down, but this game is really average at best. Rather you like it or not. 5.5/10 might be low, but thats my opinion, and I firmly stick to it.
@BengaBenga
I dont know if it works with the classic controller or not as I dont have one with me, but I wished the game can play with the Wii Remote sideway because its frustrating to press those (-), (+), 1, and 2 buttons during battle.
As for the story, I'm only judging it what I play upto and it might get better in the later chapter. So far I'm not interested a bit on it.

Ha chapter 2 and already rating the story. well I guess your typical shooter you would have already played through it twice in that amount of time.
And graphics early ps2, lol. Thats a good one. Since the first symphonia game looked great and this one has been improved upon in every way in the graphics/art department.
Can't comment on gameplay though since haven't played it like you. But I didn't change characters too much in battle on symphonia 1 anyway so depending on what + - are for and 1 and 2, i don't see it really mattering. Plus I find it really easy to hit + and - buttons. Metroid Prime anyone? And the 1 and 2 buttons are terrible either. (transforming in dragonball games) But I doubt 1 and 2 are buttons you need to ever push quickly. (when complaining about stuff you should tell us exactly what each button does, instead of saying these four buttons are hard to hit and quick change action. You should explain a little what each does. Like does 1 switch between characters or is it for a combo?)

Please don't attack Pk9394. True, I'm not entirely sure I share his review criteria either, but it's an honest opinion he's posting, so there's no need to attack him. Although some of your points are valid.
