I saw that. That isn't the only exact copy from Nintendo though. He also copied the exact look of the SNES controller.

Happy that is pretty much how it works now. You can expect to pay a few thousand dollars to get a patent.

They do investigate your claim and mostly reject your first request for patent. They give you examples of why they rejected it. You then have to counter their rejections with reasons why it is different or an improvement.

It takes awhile and can be very expensive if you hire a patent lawyer, as you should

I saw that one too, but for some reason I blanked and didn't think that was a SNES controller at the moment. After that I figured there was no reason to go back and post it.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

This court in Texas is where everyone files patent lawsuits because rulings always seem to go (at least initially) for the plaintiffs.
