Forums - Sales - Is PS3 undertracked in North America?

Hi guys, I was just looking at the numbers recently released by NPD and it seems like PS3 is undertracked in North America.

NPD has the PS3 in the US at:  4.853.804 units at the end of June

If we add the Canadian installed base which should be around 700k, PS3 should be at 5.5m at the end of June, considering that Vgchartz has all the July numbers added and it's still at 5.43 I guess that the console is a bit undertracked.

By the way I'm noticing that numbers are being adjusted so I'm happy about that.

We might see more adjustments to the PS3 when the NA numbers come in this week.

As in go buy us some coffee.

a bit undertracked is agreat possibility, but i still love my PS3 for how great it is.

plus, there may still be a few adjustments, so we should wait to see if something else happens. PS3!!!

From under which rock did you pull that 700k in Canada for the PS3 figure?

Around the Network

i think ioi adjusted the ps3 last week

Link to these Canadian figures? From what I understand many of the data is missing.

Yeah, he's already adjusted once after the NPD numbers came out.  Who knows, we may see another.

PS3 is still a ways from 700k in Canada. Canada never more than 10% of US PS3 sales.  Wii & 360 got only got to 700k+ a few months ago in Canada.

Also: 360's 5th biggest territory in the whole world is Mexico (trailing USA/UK/Canada & France only), I'm not even sure if PS3 has had an official release in Mexico, but PS3 costs ~$2,000 in much of South America anyway.

Exactly how did you arrive at that Canada number?
