Forums - Nintendo - Dead Rising Wii - A lackluster port

I'm fairly certain there wasn't a single person who thought the Wii could handle as many enemies as the 360.

Why not? I remember games with 32 Quake3 enemies from 7 years ago.

Alright, maybe there are. lol

There can be a hell of a lot of enemies on the screen at once. There are probably at least 100 in that one screenshot Shameless posted. I just don't think the Wii could do that many unless it took a major hit to visuals. I'd love to be surprised though.

Shameless...your 360 fanboyism is not going to stop Wii sales.

I don't care for the 360 or the Wii, I care about games.

Can we get a shot of the 360 version to compare?

yeah i am confused now, am i supposed to feel bad capcom is taking this game over the wii and not the ps3 now or.....ohh snap did i just go there

You should be mad that Dead Rising 2 is being postponed for this.

Yes, how DARE the Wii get a quality game!

If you'd paid attention to what I've said, you would realise that the quality of the game is what I'm questioning.

@Phendrana

The Dynasty Warriors series on Playstation 2 had a lot more enemies onscreen than has been seen so far from this game.

Ah, never played any of the Dynasty Warriors. Now that I think about it, I remember KH2 having a fight with 1000 Heartless. Hopefully Capcom will be able to get a comparable amount of enemies once the game's finished. Personally I'd be happy with a half the amount, but I'd like it to have as many as possible.

They better shape up their act. Hopefully this is just early test/dev stuff and they'll polish it off. Dead Rising deserves a good port, and Wii owners should get to play the game in all its glory.

At any rate, lets hope its better than Capcom's PC port of RE4 (I picked that up in the budget bin for 8 bucks, and I still felt ripped off. No mouse support, no binding options, no graphics options, terrible keyboard control, mislabeled keys, lighting stripped out, inferior ps2 version used as port basis instead of Gamecube, etc etc). Actually, I don't think capcom has ever had a good PC port.

WOW!!! 30 wii fanboys vs Shameless......EPIC!?!
Seriously Shameless owned all consoles, clearly he's not trolling.
Unlike starcraft, whose daily job is to bash PS3 when he doesn't even own a PS3. Now that what you call trolling.
You guys need to chill.

Edit : BTW, Extreme Makeover need to get Shameless avatar on the show. lol

A person who goes out of his way to harass everyone equally is still a jerk: targeting a specific subgroup just adds racist/sexist/something-ist to the list of charges. Likewise, you can be a troll without being a fanboy.

Although I'll agree about everyone needing to calm down. It's Shameless we're talking about here; how often does anything he has to say actually contribute? Let the man keep dumping on a game he hasn't played. It's his right. But it's our right to not bother listening, as I'm about to demonstrate.

Did any of you play the Rogue Squadron series on GC?

If so, then never again should you doubt how many quality objects on screen can the Wii render all with their own independent A.I. paths.

Each Tie Fighter was 3k polygons with over 100 flying around.

Basic enemies in Gear of War were just 10k polygons for comparison.  I hgihly doubt the zombies in Dead Rising will need to be even half of the poly level of the enemies in Gears of War.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Hey Shameless, we get it, you're not interested in the Wii version of Dead Rising. So don't buy it. Problem solved. Pretty simple, no?

No, everyone must share my opinion.

You're right.  So why create useless threads when the game is not even close to being done yet.
