| trestres said: Lol good quality ports is what you want? That's actually sad. I rather have a new good game than a port, and then another port, and then another port and th....... All I'm looking forwards from Capcom right now is Spyborgs (Not developed by them, not fair to give them the credit for being lazy and publishing, props to bionic games, thanks for the support!!) |
Um megaman 9, Monster Hunter 3 ,Zack and Wiki and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles are ports? Okami and Resident Evil 4 are both excellent games, and people like myself who never played them last gen got to enjoy them. Dead Rising is a next gen game coming to the wii, and that isn't good enough? What did the hd consoles get so far that the wii didn't? Lost Planet and Dmc4?
| trestres said: This could turn out good, but remember it's Capcom we are talking about, that doesn't give much confidence to anyone... It's like saying Ubiport quality. But I agree Shameless is a troll. |
Capcom has given more quality games to the Wii than any other developer. They are the only ones to put a major franchise on the Wii exclusively. Your schtick of whining about their support is ignorant and tiresome. Find another company to whine about if you must, but Capcom has been nothing but good to the Wii.
i really dont give a shit about the number of zombies our the graphics i just want to play the game (dont have a 360) but i cant find a wii =P
Most will agree that Capcom has been by far the best/most supportive 3rd party publisher/developer for the Wii.
A large part of that stemmed from their willingness to adopt the platform from the very beginning, rather than rush to jump on a runaway train.
It is too early to tell how the final port will turn out, but I think many of the Wii faithful may be setting the bar too high in terms of what they think will be delivered in the end. The same people will probably end up dismissing either a disappointing (relative to the 360 version) port or lower than expected sales by saying it was cheap to develop and therefor still profitable.
If it's successful, regardless of whether it holds up to a 2005 Xbox 360 game, it will mean Wii owners can potentially expect future ports from Capcom that come from Xbox 360 franchises, rather than the PS2.
This may well just be taken as another example of Capcom's business policy of trying to generate the most revenue out of each release they publish by putting them on as many platforms as they deem viable.
Some don't agree with it, but it's Capcom's bottom line at the end of the year.

I wont lower my standards to yours. You have a pretty bad taste then.
I consider ports an insult. They said the first ports like RE4, RE0, Sengoku Basara were tests. But then we got Okami and now Dead Rising... We got tested to see if we will still buy more ports? I don't think that porting the exact same game from the 360 with some extra features is gonna turn alright. The game was thought out for a bigger quantity of zombies and that was the charm of it, to kill swarms of zombies.
Why not make an all new game in the franchise, rather than give us a downscaled port of a 3 year old game. I have to agree with Benkenobi88 this time.
The rest of the games like harvey birdman, we love golf, RE:UC were average. The only good game IMO was Z&W, I loved that game.
Other than that we will have to wait until 2009 to at least play an original game: Spyborgs, MH3 (If it ever makes it to America) and Neopets.
MM9 and MotoGP 08 are a good effort though, since they are the first multiplat games from Capcom this gen that are going to the Wii, at least they have my respect for that. Not that I'm interested in either. All their inhouse efforts are for the HD platforms so far.
Proud poster of the 10000th reply at the Official Smash Bros Update Thread.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
from the info revealed by capcom it wont be a lackluster port
Well does Dead Rising count as a port? The game sounds so different, and even if it was a port, shouldn't wii only owners be happy they are getting a next gen game? Wouldn't RE5 also be a port? Would you accept that? Capcom is by far the best 3rd party supporter of the wii. With games like.l..
Spyborgs
Megaman 9
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Zack & Wiki
Okami
Monster Hunter 3
Dead Rising
coming or already came to the wii. Imagine what the wii would look like if none of those games were on the wii, and instead capcom released shovelware. Also all of those games are all good quality no matter how you lable them as Port, Remake, etc.

RE:4 was an amazing port, and Okami was done because one of their studios wanted to port it from what I understand. RE:UC was great for what it was. Now I want you to list the games other companies have given to the Wii. Go pull up whatever list you want and see how it stacks up. I'm sorry you hate it when a company gives lots of games to a platform but thats your issue I guess.
Actually after thinking about it the only 3rd party that comes close to capcom in terms of 3rd party support is Namco Bandai. But they are still behind, because all of their good games haven't been released yet other than ToS DotnW which is only in japan.
