What makes the DS a better choice than the PSP?

I liked both, but for my tastes the DS was the better choice since my favorite genres are RPGs, platformers, and adventure games. If you'd like to see some good DS games check out my profile.

Built in protection with the clamshell design making it easier to carry and not significantly damage, better battery life, and runs on little tiny carts that take up little space or weight making it a great traveler all around. Has my favorite recent RPG, Etrian Odyssey, and a number of other RPG and Adventure/Puzzle games that I love and find under represented on the PSP.

To be fair the majority of games I enjoyed on my DS are RPG's so if you love RPG's...GET A DS...If I would exclude the playtime on my DS for RPG's I will have spent more time on my PSP.

In addition to points already made, I would say lower price, more versatile interface, and a massive game library.

I've been holding off getting one because I'm terrified of what a DS + Wii combo might do to my bank account and free time.

I would go with DS because of it's massive library, huge list of exclusives and the fact that the system is ver much alive. The PSP on the other hand seems to be on it's deathbed as far as software goes in the US. I recently looked a release list and about 80 percent of the games coming for it fall in these 3 categories, games from EA, games from Sony, licenced games.

Like I said in your other thread, it's all about the games. Both the PSP and the DS are awesome little machines, and what you play on them are vastly different. I quoted the above, because it's some nice factoid information aside from the games themselves.

If you are going to go long stents where you have to be on battery life, or you plan to use it in a way where it needs to be rugged, and you think you will like both game libraries the same, go with the DS.

I think it's a very rare gamer that likes both game library's equally however, as they are so different in style.
