Forums - Sony - Why isn't there much hype for Versus?

I'm way more hyped for VS because it being darker than the other games. I'm a bit skeptical towards FFXIII because it's the third game in a row with a Yuna (Lightning really similar to Yuna). Also, it seems to be somewhat more in the realm of science fiction than fantasy.

I think they made terrible decisions with VS. They have developed the game forever and yet they can't release it at the same time as FFXIII because both would be in competition with each other. Also, with the delay of FFXIII for the localisation and port, it's much worse. Because of that, they can't have Kingdom Hearts release before a long long time. They could have put 2 Kindgom Hearts this generation if they started working on it before.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Because it releases in 2013 given S-E's current track record. Look forward to it being on 360 as well so don't expect sony to do the hyping!

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I've been skeptical for these same reasons but its FF so I'll still be purchasing on day 1 and hoping for the best.

I loved KH and KH2. I can't wait to see how Square-Enix sets a game of that style in the FF Universe.

I think it's not receiving that much hype right now because it's so far off down the calendar. Or, at least, we all assume it is. No one really knows but the team working on it.

I thought the KH's were "okay". Ireally didn't like their hyper-colorfulness. This is why I'm interested in vs XIII. At first S-E said they were working on both games simultaneously but later I read somewhere that they had to delay vs to focus on finishing xiii. I think Soriku had a post saying tha they only just finished the story for xiii which has been in development for 4 years. This is why vs is far far away. We'll surely be seeing lots of ports and chocobo games to keep us busy till then lol.

Comparing the 2 trailers. I'm looking forward to the Versus more than the main XIII..

The Versus trailer was just cool.

I guess it's more me being naively hopeful, but I'll believe it when Square-Enix officially announces progress(possibly at TGS). lol at chocobo games haha! There are a bunch of cool RPG's in the coming months to keep us busy, I hope! I know Disgaea 3 will keep me occupied for months by itself. BTW, I love your avatar! I almost made Aya my avatar until I saw yours. C'mon, Square-Enix, with PE3 already! :)

Nobody really knows anything about it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
