Anything by EA, Motorstorm and Resistance to name a few I've seen notable frame rate drops, usually hidden in the form of slow motion sequences which I'm finding there is an abundance of in most PS3 games. Like I said though, hopefully this isn't a long term problem with the PS3 or else all of its potential for graphical upgrades will ultimately be a moot point if it has already reached its ceiling of potential processing power.

seen where on your pc lol.

this pretty much sums up every post gballzack makes.

If that post was just talking about games from EA (though they're not the only ones), then I'd agree as port quality hasn't been the best yet. That said, I'm interested in seeing how Rainbow Six: Vegas and GRAW2 are, hopefully I can get a rent in on them.

Oh well.

that's harsh.... but by no means does that make it not funny.

GBallzack, your post actually says something positive(kinda) about the PS3 "hopefully this isn't a long term problem with the PS3" hopeful at least

"I wonder what if killzone graphics do not or do blow away people in graphics? What if it comes out like a failure of a game sony would be doomed or atlest lose alot of ps players, but if it comes out even beter than the trailor they showed maybe who knows they might sell alot of consoles? Halo sells 360's will killzone do the same."

=> this is the point !!!
Sony need to, at a minimum, show that his console is technically in advance compared to Xbox360. Be sure that Killzone will be compared to Gear of war.
If Sony is not able to prove that, PS3, the most expensive console, is the more powerfull too, then they are DEAD

Time to Work !

Yeah, ok....

lol, oh so that's what that is when I'm playing Dynasty Warriors.

That aside, I don't know where you're getting that from for Resistance. Aside from one or two spots in the entire game that were just barley noticable, Resistance is smooth as hell. Unless of course you're calling the slow motion to help you aim with the sniper weapon a frame rate drop.

She is referring to that exactly. Also in Motorstorm the slow mo is for effect after a collision... there is a difference between slow mo and frame rate drops you know...

how can someone be foolish enough to get slo mo mixed up with framerate drops...gzbal whatever obviously dont know what they are talking about.. resistance and motorstorm are smooth as hell ... resistance especially online..

@vizunary

your list is not complete

I know it was not complete, I didn't want the post to be a mile long, but just look at the averages, a 70 for KZ on PS2, not great but it isn't just complete shit like some want you to believe. And 77 for KZ: Liberation, it was an excellent shooter, especially for a handheld. I never said that they were the super duper shiz nit of gaming, I was simply trying to point out that they were not the crap some say.

You may have known that it wasn't complete and it got a 77 on Metacritic but I'm guessing you didn't include any score below an 84 with a majority of the scores a 90+ for a purpose other than you didn't want a list a mile long. It's a lot more fun to be misleading and make people think the game you're defending is perfect rather than let people see all the scores.

I never said it was even great, let alone perfect. Don't put words in my post. I was in fact never particularly fond of the first Killzone, or any other FPS for that matter, I enjoy them but they are usually rentals, or I only own them for a month b4 they get traded in. I am enjoying KZ: Liberation quite a bit right now. I meant to include the avg in the first post anyways, plus it's not like I only included the top 5 reviews or anything, I think there were at least 10 or more in each list. I was simply pointing out that they were not absolutely horrible like some were making out. Remember you can always find shit reviews of any game, you give me Game of the Year, any year, and I can find an "official" review that says it's just a shiny turd.

Anyways, that's not even the point of the thread. I personally do have high hopes for KZ2. If it's as good as they say, then maybe I'll have another FPS to add to my permanent collection of games I actually keep, right now there is only Black, and it was $20 and I get to blow the hell out of everything when I'm in the mood to.

Of course every game has a random bad review, but when a game has a large list of bad reviews that says something. When you look at something likeKillzone for the PSP, it has a very wide arrange of reviews ranging from 40 to 100. What you did was only show the high end making people think the game is great, that's what happens when you leave out the low end of a very varied set of reviews like that.

So yeah, pardon me for getting a little worked up when someone tries to feed me bullshit like half of a list reviews that includes all of the high ones and none of the low ones.

As for the games of the year, Killzone PSP had an average of 77, the others had the following:

Gears of War (2007): 94
Shadow of the Colossus (2006): 91
Half-Life 2 (2005): 96
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2004): 94
Metroid: Prime (2003): 97
Grand Theft Auto III (2002): 97
The Sims (2001): 91

Now if you look at the reviews for those games, you might notice the random bad review, but the numbers are fairly consistent (save for Shadow of the Colossus, that one varies a little more than the others). I don't put a lot of faith in reviewers, but when you see a long list of reviews and a good 90-95% of them all agree and are fairly close to each other, that means something. With Killzone PSP, they are all over the place so just showing the first part of the list means nothing and insults anyone that looks at it.

Killzone is a good game if you take of the glitches and sound issues, and online play is horrible not to bad but isnt good, I think thats why people are saying that the ps3's online"lags" Who hear has seen any lagging or glitches in the ps3's online? No one right?

Okay, Blue3 is saying:

Money will fix the issue that Killzone 1/2 sucked +
The power of the PS3 will greatly help the graphical issue.

But really, in the end, what the crap is Killzone going to have to it's name to make it stand out from every other FPS out there? Halo is known for it's remarkable online play. Gears was known for it's cover system. HL/UT were known for great PC multiplay. What exactly is Killzone 3 going to blow gamers away with? Graphics? Crysis is coming out soon, and looks far far far far better.

Money and dev time DONT mean games get uber-better. Look at Shemmue. 5+ years and 70m+ dollars equaled a poor selling, critcally-panned game. I like it, but the critics and sales hated it.

KZ might sell 2~3m over its lifetime. I can't stand Blue and everyone thinking that the next game (Uncharted, Killzone, MGS4, FFXIII) is going to magically re-invent a poor selling system. They'll help, but the more important issue of "OMG Killzzones! OMG I want cuz Im a PS3 fanboy", is if Sony can start securing exclusives or start stealing back some of the Wii and 360s thunder. Unfortunately, they aren't.

You shouldnt be saying crysis looks far far far better becuz nobody has seen any images of the game of killzone ps3, Sony is doing everything they can to bring good exclusive titles both through th ps network and disc format hard core exclusive games, your acting as if sony arent doing anything for the ps3 and they arent going to do anything for it but you keep hatting on them at leat they are bringing games to the ps3. So wat if killzone 1 sucked the only reaoson why it sucked was becuz of the glithces overall it was a rather good shooter, Killzone liberation on the psp was actually a pretty good psp game one of the best one's, its like every single person in the forum is bashing at sony for no reason wat so ever.

this site has always been like this since i joined... im apart of alot of neutral sites but this one is very anti-sony... any good sony posts get shot down out of the sky... just the other day i was playing around saying sony is god.. and everyone took it serious ...it really does surprise me how anit-sony it is being that alot of other sites are not as anti as they used to be...... i guess its the cool thing to do.. or sony fanboys have pissed off too many people on this site...

You guys need to stop saying that this site and forums are anti-sony.  There are just as many people that are anti-nintendo or anti-microsoft, you guys included.  The majority, and in my opinion vast majority, of the people on this site are not anti-anyone, though each may have a personally favorite.  Just because someone does not agree with you, doesn't mean they are anti-sony.

As for killzone, I have no comments since I apparently suck at console FPS's (well the wii might change that) and therefore have no interest in playing it, good graphics or not.
