Forums - Microsoft - The Comprehensive RPG Index: Upcoming RPGs for the Xbox 360

Fallout 3 has me REALLY excited, and I don't really play RPGs. I also have to admit I might pick up Fable 2 also, it is starting to really come together it seems like, and the new trailer has me pretty hyped. I don't know why, but I really can't stand JRPGs for some reason, so the rest of the games on the list just don't appeal to me at all. I might rent Infinite Undiscovery or The Last Remnant to see if I can get into them, but I highly doubt I will be purchasing either of them, and I am pretty sure those 2 are the only ones on the list besides Fallout3/Fable2 that I will even play.

Currently Playing:

PS4 - Killzone:SF and Assasins Creed 4

XBox One: BF4, CoD:Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5

Changing channels with my voice: priceless!!!

wishlist:
Fable 2
Fallout 3
Rise of the argonauts
the last remnant

cmon people, make your wish lists!

Will Buy:

Fable 2

Fallout 3

The Last Remnant

Infinite Undiscovery

Tales of Vespiria

That's my top 5, but like I said, I'll probably buy them all.

Same here. The quality of the RPG just determines when I'm getting it. Although, Im avoiding Operation Darkness and maybe Spectral Force 3.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

I still have to add atleast 4 more RPGs (Zoids, TLR, Marvel 2, and Sacred 2) for 2008 releases...Not including Cry On, which should be December 2008 in Japan as well.

So it's going to be very, very busy for Xbox 360 owners that enjoy RPGs.

Cry On in December in Japan? Not likely. Have you heard anything about this game in the last six months other than concept art that may or may not be from the game? Much as I would love it, I can't see it happening.

This entire list is awesome, but Fable 2 dominates.

To take this one step further, is there any real proof that Cry On is anything other than vaporware? I haven't heard a thing about this game since it was first announced back in 2005 or 2006. Not one screenshot, trailer, announcement, nothing.

A few notes:

  • Cry On has been in development since December 2005 (2 and 1/2 years ago)
  • Mistwalker hasn't announced a single other game on the X360 since LO was finished
  • How much media did we get for Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon >1 month before launch?

Lost Odyssey had a playable demo in 2006, but very, very little media afterwards. There was almost a 1 year blackout before we had much news about it. Very similar story for Blue Dragon.

Also, there has been a little bit of CO news to come around about 1-2 months ago. It could be later (maybe March 09), but considering how low-key Mistwalker is, I bet we'll start hearing a bit about it at TGS08 later this year.

That's all fine and dandy, but there's a stronger rumor going around that Blue Dragon 2 is next up on their agenda, unless of course they're working on both simultaneously.

Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Sacred 2 for me. I don't like JRPGs.

Will Buy:

Spectral Force 3 (on release day)
Tales of Vesperia (later time)
Infinite Undiscovery (on release day)
Fable 2 (on release day)
The Last Remnant (on release day)

Might be the only person in here but Fallout 3 doesn't interest me one bit.

BTW is Too Human consider as a RPG?

I just would have thought that they might have said something about it at their RPG event a while ago

The 360 certainly has a sick lineup of RPGs coming out. As a 360 owner, I'm very excited. I thought PS3 was gonna be my RPG console this gen, but so far it's been the DS. I don't care if all of these games suck, I'm still buying them all, cause they are just my genre. I play em good or bad.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

WTF.  Fallout 3 looks like it will be a great game and has a very unique setting that sets it apart from other RPGs on the market and you aren't interested?

Woopsie. I forgot TH.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Even if the games were 'meh', I'd still buy Fallout 3 and Fable 2 just for allowing me to explore a large world with my trusty dog

Great list!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
